    • An improved adjustable gate structure which is suitable for a fence with an opening therein which is too wide or narrow for a conventional gate, the gate's horizontal width can be increased or reduced by simple mechanical adjustments. The preferred embodiment of this gate consists of a main frame with a plurality of long horizontal panels of equal length affixed parallelographically to a vertical panel approximately 5′ in height and an extension frame with the same plurality of short horizontal panels of equal length also affixed to a panel approximately 5′ tall. All of the panels are spaced equally in relation to the ground. Apertures are punched or drilled equidistantly in the short panels and the distal ends of the long panels. The method to join the two frames at a pre-determined width is to interpose the short panels upon the distal ends of the long panels, thereby aligning the apertures with one or two apertures being secured on every set of panels with fasteners. Thus, the newly expanded or reduced width gate is made ready to be swingably upon its mounting post.

    • A barrier device for preventing passage, having a simple construction and capable of being lowered into a shallow trench. The barrier device, preferably constructed as a gate for preventing passage to and from buildings or property, comprises a moveable framework for supporting a telescopic barrier arrangement and a movement device for moving the support device between a barrier position and an open position of the telescopic barrier arrangement. The telescopic barrier arrangement is shortened during the movement from the barrier position to the open position with the help of a counter-force which can be applied by a sunken base, and extended in the opposite direction during movement from the open position to the barrier position, with the help of the force of gravity.

    • A pylon or barrier arrangement which is recessed into the ground or other surface and includes a post-like pylon which is movable between an extended position for control of vehicular or pedestrian traffic, and a retracted position beneath the ground. Movement of the pylon is achieved by a linear-type drive mechanism which acts as a clutch by decoupling from an upright and rotatable smooth drive shaft during abrupt downward driving of the pylon to avoid damage to the internal components of the arrangement. A sealing arrangement is provided for preventing the entry of debris into the interior of the pylon arrangement, and a heating unit is provided for preventing seizure of the arrangement during harsh weather conditions.

    • A removable post assembly for securing an area, basically comprising an anchorage assembly, an elongated post member and a locking assembly to lock and secure the removable post member to the anchorage assembly. The anchorage assembly includes housing with an upper opening adjacent to the ground level to cooperatively receive a portion of the elongated post member. The housing has cavities or bay members to selectively receive a latching member of the locking assembly. The elongated post member is tubular and includes lateral openings positioned at its lowermost portion, that once the former is placed inside the housing of the anchorage assembly, the lateral openings are in horizontal alignment with the bay members to allow the piercing of the latching member. The locking assembly includes a lock mounted to the upper end of the post member.
