    • A method of providing a glazed panel with Georgian-effect glazing bars (45). The method comprises providing a frame (37) for the panel and glazing material (30) to fit within the frame. A generally U-shaped clip (33), having two arms (35,36) which lie respectively against the side faces of the glazing material, is arranged to extend around the edge of the glazing material (30). A length of moulded hollow-section glazing bar (45), suitable for extending across a side face of the glazing material (30), is cut and is then engaged with an arm (35) of the clip so that the arm enters the open end (49) of the glazing bar (45). This holds the end region of the glazing bar (45) against the side face of the glazing material (30). Preferably a matrix of intersecting glazing bars (45) is formed, and at least some of the ends of the bars that extend to the edge of the panel are held in place by U-shaped clips.

    • The present invention relates to an automatic safety gate for covering a gap or opening in a protective barrier installed on an upper floor or mezzanine. The automatic safety gate broadly includes a frame which defines an opening, a netting for closing the opening, and devices for raising and lowering the netting to move the netting between a first position where the opening is closed and a second position where the opening is accessible. The frame preferably includes a lower bar which can be raised and lowered to which the netting is attached. The raising and lowering devices preferably comprise a pair of air cylinders connected to the lower bar.

    • A light transmitting storm shutter system for homes, buildings and the like includes a combination of full width corrugated aluminum and half width clear polycarbonate panels arranged in alternating adjacent and partially overlapping relation over a given window or door opening. The aluminum panels provide structural integrity while the polycarbonate panels provide light transmittance. The combination of full width aluminum panels and half width polycarbonate panels provides a storm shutter system that is substantially stronger and more resistant to impact deflection than the light transmitting storm shutters disclosed in the background art, and eliminates the need for additional hardware, supports, and bracing.

    • A window regulator assembly is provided that includes a guide defining a path. A window bar assembly having a window mounted thereon is supported on the guide and is movable along the path. A manual or automatic actuator is interconnected with a drum for rotationally driving the drum. A pair of cables each include an end connected to the drum with the opposing end connected to the guide. The cables are arranged in a pull-pull relationship between the drum and guide. A portion of the cables is wrapped about the circumference of the drum. A drum biasing assembly, which may include a mandrel urged into bore of the drum by a spring, expands the circumference of the drum to take up the slack in the cables. The drum includes radial grooves that divides the drum into sectors that are movable relative to one another by the mandrel.
