摘要： New forms of self-cleansing surfaces are provided. In some embodiments, a self-cleansing surface is provided, which is configured to be handled by a human user, as a user interface. The self-cleansing surface may comprise one or more surface device(s), with surface-covering pores configured to release a cleanser upon physical contact or actuation of the user interface, and configured to clean the self-cleansing surface. In some embodiments, the release is mediated by a physical trigger. In some embodiments, the surface device includes a control system that monitors surface handling with a sensor, and mediates the release with an actuator. The invention may be provided on or in any form of user interface that may be physically touched by a user. For example, in some embodiments, the invention may be provided on door handles or controls, appliance handles or controls, and any other user interfaces bearing a risk of carrying microbes.

摘要： Disclosed are a method and system for vertically utilizing unconventional water source. The system includes a water collection unit, a water treatment unit, and a monitoring, regulation and reuse unit. The water collection unit is configured to collect rainwater and/or domestic wastewater; the water treatment unit is in communication with the water collection unit and configured to purify the rainwater and/or the domestic wastewater collected by the water collection unit; and the monitoring, regulation and reuse unit is in communication with the water treatment unit and configured to use reclaimed water obtained through treatment by the water treatment unit. The method and the system for vertically utilizing unconventional water source in the present disclosure have advantages of a simple structure, low costs, and high treatment efficiency, effectively save energy and water resources, and are suitable for decentralized treatment and recycling of urban domestic wastewater.

摘要： A stormwater treatment system and method for removing sediment, chemical pollutants, and debris from stormwater runoff by utilizing bioretention practices including physical, chemical and biological processes. Stormwater is directed into a primarily open-bottomed, multi-dimensional container whereby entrained sediment and other transportable materials are filtered and treated through a media filter layer consisting of inorganic and/or organic materials. A live plant (preferably a tree) situated within the container with roots resident in the media filter layer with the ability for expansion beyond the perimeter of the container through openings in one or more sidewalls. The treated water may be further conveyed beyond the perimeter of the container by additional openings and/or piping. A vertically positioned overflow/bypass/clean out piping apparatus may be included within the stormwater treatment system to provide additional water conveyance. Additional ancillary conveyance, filtration and storage facilities may be connected to the described stormwater treatment system as conditions warrant.

摘要： The present invention comprises a self-contained mobile living space that mimics the amenities of an entire residential property in order to affordably house individuals, particularly in urban environments. All living necessities are fused into one micro-living platform, independent of access to existing structures, land space, electricity, or sewage hookups, allowing landowners to rent out space with limited effort. The wheeled foundation allows the assembly to circumvent some of the existing urban building codes. In preferred embodiments, the various elements are configured in such a way that separate areas for sleeping, leisure, bathing, cooking, and gardening can be had atop a single compact space, with the use of exterior space maximized to heighten the sense of spatial availability for the occupant. The invention provides a new alternative for affordable urban housing, exploiting available residential land without the expense, permitting, or effort associated with permanent construction on a non-portable foundation.

摘要： A rainwater conveyance system comprises a vault assembly and a drain emitter. At least a portion of the vault assembly is underground and is located above a percolation region in the ground. The drain emitter is connected to the conveyance line such that a primary portion of the collected water flows through the first portion of the conveyance line and a secondary portion of the collected water flows out of the second portion of the conveyance line through the drain emitter at a preset emitter flow rate. The drain emitter is arranged within the vault assembly, above the percolation region, and below the conveyance opening. The preset emitter flow rate is predetermined such that the flow of the secondary portion of the collected water out of the conveyance line through the drain emitter drains standing water from the conveyance line and the secondary portion of the collected water percolates through the percolation region.

摘要： In one aspect, a water conservation apparatus is provided that includes a diverter having an inlet for being connected to a water supply, a primary outlet, and a secondary outlet. The apparatus includes an elongate water storage tank and a supply conduit configured to connect the secondary outlet of the diverter to the water storage tank. The elongate water storage tank has a height and a width perpendicular to the height that is less than the height so that the water from the secondary outlet of the diverter forms a column within the tank. The apparatus further includes a tap having an outlet and a valve, the valve having a closed position that inhibits water flow from the water tank to the outlet and an open position that permits water to be driven out of the outlet by the column of water in the tank.
