摘要： A three dimensional embroidered pattern is sewn into a fabric using polyester monochromatic thread that is selected to take up a dye applied thereto. After the pattern is sewn into the fabric, a pattern comprised of sublimatable dyes is applied to a sheet substrate. The sheet substrate bearing the dye pattern is registered to contact the embroidered pattern and heated under pressure. The dyes comprising the pattern on the sheet substrate sublime and condense in the thread comprising the embroidered pattern adjacent thereto. When the sheet substrate is separated from the embroidery, a three dimensional colored pattern remains on the embroidery thread comprising the pattern. The visual appearance of the polychromatic pattern obtained when the dyes on the sheet substrate sublime and condense on the embroidered fabric is different than the pattern achieved when using variously colored threads to embroider the pattern on the fabric.

摘要： In a time-saving machine embroidering method, an auxiliary frame, having clamped therein an auxiliary backing material, is placed in the frame of an embroidering machine. A motif is then embroidered onto the auxiliary backing material, and the auxiliary frame together with the auxiliary backing material is removed from the frame. The material to be embroidered is fixed in the frame, and subsequently the auxiliary frame with the embroidered auxiliary backing material positioned above the material to be embroidered is again fixed in the frame. Subsequently, the motif embroidered already is only fixed on the material by means of embroidering or sewing stitches. Finally, the auxiliary frame and the material provided with the motif are removed from the frame and the auxiliary backing material is removed.

摘要： A concentrate of binder at the tufts produces a lighter and more flexible carpet, which allows for direct attachment of hook-and-loop means on the carpet backing. Thermoplastic binder yarns are pinned by the pile yarns against the primary backing. Subsequent application of heat melts the binder yarns and fuses the tufts and primary backing together. An alternate embodiment uses highly shrinkable binder sheet placed over the backing before tufting, instead of the binder yarns.

摘要： The present invention provides an embroidery auxiliary member that is superimposed on a base fabric, embroidered together with the base fabric by embroidery yarn, and thereafter removed. The embroidery auxiliary member is made of a tetrachloroethylene soluble material and includes a spacer and a support sheet. The spacer is utilized for forming a hollow three-dimensional embroidery pattern using embroidery yarn and has a predetermined thickness. The support sheet is utilized for supporting the base fabric during an embroidering operation. A method of embroidering by using the spacer comprises the steps of placing the spacer on the base fabric, sewing the base fabric through the spacer using the embroidering yarn, and dissolving the spacer with tetrachloroethylene. A method of embroidering by using the support sheet comprises the steps of holding the support sheet in a flat state, placing the base fabric on the support sheet, sewing the base fabric together with the support sheet using the embroidering yarn, and dissolving the support sheet with tetrachloroethylene. In the embroidering method using the spacer, a three-dimensional embroidery product having a unique appearance can be obtained by sewing the embroidery yarn in a net-like form.

A carpet (50) comprises a face yarn (11); a primary backing fabric (12), the face yarn being tufted into the primary backing fabric; a modified secondary backing fabric (20) attached to the primary backing fabric; and an adhesive material (14) binding the face yarn to the primary backing fabric and the primary backing fabric to the secondary backing fabric. The modified secondary backing fabric (20) comprises a secondary backing scrim fabric (15) and a fiber batt (12) integrated as a unitary scrim, providing a soft face (51) forming the underside of the carpet, the soft face forming a barrier uninterrupted by the scrim fabric and blocking exudation of any of the adhesive material from the underside of the carpet. A method for the manufacture of a modified secondary carpet backing (20) comprises selecting a secondary backing scrim fabric (15) and a fiber batt (21); joining the two fabrics to form the modified secondary carpet backing (20), providing a soft face (51) opposite the face (52) presented by the scrim fabric, uninterrupted by the scrim fabric; and subjecting the modified fabric to heat sufficient to remove substantially all loose fibers (45) projecting from the soft surface. The present invention also provides a method for the manufacture of carpet.
