    • A tack-in apparatus is provided wherein injection ports are arranged at upper and lower sides of a weft yarn path, respectively. The injection ports inject currents for folding back an end portion of a cut weft yarn into a warp yarn opening on the weft yarn path which the weft yarn passes by a beating operation. Air guides projecting toward the warp yarn opening are formed at circumferential portions of the injection ports between the weft yarn path and the injection ports. The surfaces of the air guides which are on the sides of the injection ports are inclined toward the weft yarn path at front end portions of the air guides. In order to tack in the weft yarn end, the injection air currents are directed to the central portion of the warp yarn opening. This enables the weft yarn end to be transferred reliably, the tack-in operation to be carried out reliably, and the turbulence of the warp yarn to be reduced.

    • A tuck-in apparatus for shuttleless loom comprises a nozzle block adapted to be provided in a warp side of a cutter cutting a weft, the nozzle block is formed with a slit opening towards three sides, including a warp side, a warp feed side, and a cutter side. The nozzle block includes a drive nozzle guiding a weft end placed within the slit to a front side along the weft feed direction by air supplied through the drive nozzle and a guide nozzle folding the weft end back into a warp shedding by air supplied through the guide nozzle wherein the slit extends parallel to a warp line and a depth end of the slit is set to come near an extended line from a cloth fell.

    • Compared with the method for performing tuck-in operation at each weaving cycle, the method of the present invention makes it possible to increase the number of revolutions of the loom at high speed, to decrease the number of maintenance operations needed for the tuck-in device and to decrease power consumption. According to the tuck-in selvedge setting method in a tuck-in device of a shuttleless loom for towel of the present invention, when a pile fabric is woven, tuck-in operations for ends of a plurality of wefts inserted into one repeat for forming a pile fabric are performed by a plurality of times. And in at least one tuck-in operation among these tuck-in operations, ends of a plurality of wefts are collectively brought together, and the last tuck-in operation is carried out in the weaving cycle of a first weft in the next repeat for forming the pile fabric.

    • A method and a device limit the normal shed opening angle (&agr;) of warp threads in an open loom shed, to a smaller limited shed opening angle (&agr;1) that applies to the selvedge warp threads over a selvedge laying-in width at the edge of the fabric. The limited shed opening angle (&agr;1) is smaller than the normal shed opening angle (&agr;) and is selected to provide optimal positioning and binding-in of the free thread end of a beat-up weft thread that is guided back and laid or tucked into the next open shed to form a high quality laid-in selvedge. The shed opening limit device includes two thread-constraining prongs that extend perpendicularly to the direction of the warp threads at least along the desired laid-in depth of the selvedge. The selvedge warp threads are guided and constrained between the prongs so that the extent of shed opening of the selvedge warp threads is limited to the limited angle (&agr;1).
