摘要： Friction materials for clutch, brake shoes and the like are formed of a paper having reduced or eliminated non-functional processing additives. The paper composition includes components selected from a group consisting of aramid pulp, aramid staple, carbon/polyacrylonitrile fibers, glass wool, potassium octatitanate, bronze wool, high surface area filter cake, graphite, amorphous carbon and cyanated phenolic resin. The paper composition may be pre-compounded to a particle size in the range of 60 to 200 mesh. Part molding may be carried out by microwave heating the paper at 250° to 55° F.

An alternate friction unit includes a substantially rigid backing co-pultruded in forming the unit. The units are produced in a pultrusion process wherein the reinforcing fibers and matrix are pulled through a forming die.

摘要： A non-asbestos friction material is comprised of a molded and cured composition which includes a fibrous base, a binder, a filler, and particles of a rubber composite composed primarily of at least one fibrous substance and rubber, or of at least one fibrous substance, at least one type of hard particle and rubber. The rubber composite particles enable the fibrous substance to be uniformly dispersed and mixed without forming clumps and without segregation of the hard fibrous substance and the hard particles in the finished article. The qualities of each constituent can thus be used to full advantage to give friction materials such as automotive disk pads which have an excellent friction performance.

摘要： The polymeric composition for friction elements comprises a co-polymer between (I) a resin containing phenolic groups and a reticulation agent, and (II) an organopolysiloxane resin containing terminal silanol groups. A part at least of the phenolic groups is bound to the terminal silanol groups. A process of the preparation of the above polymeric composition may comprise the following steps: a) mixing (I) a resin containing the phenolic groups and the reticulation agent, (II) resin containing the terminal silanol groups, and (III) an epoxy resin or the epoxidisesd organopolysiloxane; b) curing the mixture for a period of time sufficient to complete substantially the reaction between the phenolic groups and the terminal silanol groups, c) post-heating the product obtained under b).
