摘要： A cement admixture of a low environmental load type, capable of reducing hexavalent chromium, having a small slump loss or heat of hydration, hardly neutralized and capable of suppressing autogenous shrinkage to a low level; a cement composition; and cement concrete employing it, are presented. The cement admixture comprises a slowly cooled slag powder which contains melilite as the main component and which has a carbon dioxide absorption of at least 2%, has a CO2 absorption of at least 2%, has a loss on ignition of at most 5%, contains at least 0.5% of sulfur present as non-sulfuric acid form sulfur and/or has a concentration of non-sulfuric acid form sulfur to elute, of at least 100 mg/l, and further, preferably, has a degree of vitrification of at most 30%, a melilite lattice constant a of from 7.73 to 7.82 and/or a Blaine specific surface area of at least 4,000 cm2/g.

摘要： Compositions useful for the preparation of lightweight, high strength wallboards, and methods of making same are disclosed. The composition includes a slurry of calcium sulfate hemihydrate (stucco), water, starch, and a foam. The foam acts to provide large bubbles within the core slurry, thereby lightening the weight of the wallboard. The composition and method provide wallboards having lighter weights compared to standard wallboard, increased core strength, and increased paper-to-core bonding.

摘要： A synthetic slag is produced by melting the mineral content of an organic carbon-containing mineral, for example, oil shale or tar sands, with a source of lime such as cement kiln dust. The organic carbon, especially hydrocarbon, content of the mineral is oxidized by oxygen gas, which typically is derived from air or an air/oxygen combination, in an exothermic reaction and the heat generated provides the thermal energy for the reaction between the mineral content and the source of lime. In this way the gaseous products will typically comprise nitrogen, unreacted oxygen, water vapor and carbon dioxide, and heat energy can be readily recovered from the hot off gas products evolving during the combustion reaction. The synthetic slag may be pelletized and employed as lightweight mineral aggregate or milled, or atomized and then milled, to cement fineness to provide slag cement.

摘要： The method for sealing a seam between adjacent structural panels significantly reduces the time for finishing a drywall in comparison with conventional methods, which use multiple applications of a joint compound to seal the seam. An all-purpose drywall joint compound is mixed with a synthetic fiber, such as Colombian Fiber, or polypropylene, and sufficient water to facilitate soaking of the synthetic fiber and mixing with the joint compound. An optional liquid adhesive, such as liquid wallpaper adhesive, is added to the mixture. The mixture is then applied as one coat to the seam and allowed to dry. No subsequent coatings of the mixture are necessary.
