    • The present invention relates to an apparatus for blow-molding a glass bottle, and more particularly, to an apparatus for blow-molding a glass bottle in which molding air is injected into a pair of mold bodies such that molten glass accommodated in the mold bodies is formed into a glass bottle and a groove is formed at the center of the inner side of the bottom surface of the glass bottle. The apparatus for blow-molding a glass bottle of the present invention uses a blow mold (10) configured to include: a pair of mold bodies (11) forming a tubular body; a base mold (12) which molds the bottom surface of the glass bottle; and a blowing head (13) which are arranged in the upper portions of the mold bodies (11) and into which molding air is injected such that the glass bottle is expanded after primary molding and closely contacts the inner walls of the mold bodies (11) and the base mold (12). A groove molder (20) is provided on the inner circumferential edge portion of the blowing head (13) such that a groove portion (15) can be molded on the inner side of the bottom surface of the glass bottle (14).

    • A glassware mold bottom plate mounting arrangement in a glassware forming machine includes a floating ring captured by a cap plate on a base for limited lateral movement with respect to the base and the cap plate. A hollow spud is rigidly secured to and extends from the ring. A cooling wind passage in the base opens through the hollow spud, and a vacuum passage in the base opens through the ring at a position spaced from the spud. A glassware mold bottom plate is removably telescopically received over the ring and the spud. The bottom plate has a central air passage received over the spud, an annular recess received over the ring, and a peripheral air passage that opens into the annular recess such that the central and peripheral air passages open to the cooling wind and vacuum passages in the base through the spud and the ring respectively. The spud and the ring preferably have external seals in respective sliding sealing engagement with the central air passage and the annular recess in the bottom plate. There preferably are face seals between the base and the floating ring, and between the ring and an undersurface of the cap plate.

    • A method for producing the type lamp glass envelope used in a reflector lamp is disclosed which employs a ribbon machine. Said ribbon formed lamp glass envelope includes a cylindrical neck portion terminating at one end in a curved reflector portion closed by an integral flattened face portion of lesser curvature with light distributing elements being formed on the exterior surface of said face portion. In its preferred embodiments, the reflector portion of said lamp glass envelope is of the PAR type which can further include truncation of the parabolic shape with opposing substantially flattened parallel surfaces as well as face portions for said lamp glass envelope which can be circular or rectangular in shape. A novel mold construction permitting said lamp glass envelope to be blown on a ribbon machine includes a pair of cooperating halves to form the sides of the curved glass envelope in a central cavity and which terminate at the ends of said cavity in a separate curved or flat base part which undergoes reciprocal motion in a vertical direction during said manufacturing process.
