    • The present invention relates to a dispenser for a refrigerator. The dispenser comprises a housing 81 that is mounted on a front surface of a door 56 to define an external appearance and has a recessed portion 81null formed to be depressed rearward; a dispensing port 84 for discharging water delivered from a main body 50 of the refrigerator to the recessed portion 81null of the housing 81; a water-dispensing button unit 110 having a water-dispensing button 112 pressed by means of force exerted by a user to receive a signal necessary for the discharge of the water from the dispensing port 84; an actuating switch 92 operated by the water-dispensing button unit 110 to generate a signal for opening and closing the dispensing port 84; and a driving lever 100 for connecting the actuating switch 92 and the water-dispensing button 112 to drive the actuating switch 92 by means of the operation of the water-dispensing button 112. According to the present invention, the water discharged from the dispensing port 84 is effectively avoided from being transferred to the actuating switch 92, thereby preventing the occurrence of a short circuit in the actuating switch 92.

    • An apparatus for cooling at least one fluid includes separable cold plate and dispenser units. The cold plate unit includes a coolant system, a fluid system and a metallic unit. The coolant system defines a cold plate portion and a tower portion. The cold plate portion of the coolant system has a primary inlet manifold and a primary outlet manifold, and the tower portion has a secondary inlet manifold and a secondary outlet manifold. The coolant system further includes a first plurality of coolant line segments connecting the primary and secondary inlet manifolds and a second plurality of coolant line segments connecting the secondary and primary outlet manifolds. The fluid system also defines a cold plate portion and a tower portion, the portions being in heat exchange relationship with the coolant system. The metallic unit includes unitary cold plate and tower portions which respectively incorporate the cold plate and tower portions of the coolant system and fluid system. The dispenser unit also includes a coolant system, a fluid system and a metallic unit. The coolant system of the dispenser unit includes a dispenser inlet manifold and a dispenser outlet manifold. The coolant system of the dispenser unit further includes a plurality of coiled coolant lines. The fluid system is in heat exchange relationship with the coolant system, being disposed at least partially within the coiled coolant lines. The metallic unit of the dispenser unit incorporates the dispenser coolant system and fluid system.

    • In an ice discharging mechanism of an ice storage box according to the present invention, a swinging solenoid 24 is mounted by means of a swing shaft 23 fixed onto arm portions 22 of a bracket 21. A support plate 27 is welded onto a lower part of the bracket 21. One end of a plunger 33 and one end of a link member 34 are coupled with each other by means of a coupling shaft 31 inserted through a long hole 29 of the support plate 27. In a lower end portion of the bracket 21, a pivoting plate 37 that forms an opening/closing door is pivotably mounted to a fulcrum shaft 35 that is provided parallel to the swing shaft 23. A moving shaft 41 provided to the other end of the link member 34 is inserted through the pivoting plate 37 whereby the plunger 33 and the pivoting plate 37 are connected with each other.

    • A machine (10) for making products such as iced beverages and the like comprises a tank (11) to contain the product in which cooling means (12) and stirring means (13) are present. The tank comprises a product-dispensing tap (14) having a slidable piston (15) and which is provided with sealing elements (17, 18) to offer a hydraulic outward seal to the tank when the tap is in a closed condition. The piston portion (23) between the sealing elements and in contact with the product in the tank has a reduced section to form regions (19) of free circulation of the product around the piston. The tank may comprise surfaces (20) for conveying the product towards such regions so as to facilitate circulation thereof. Thus the product stagnation that may cause bacteria and pollutant formation is avoided and the cleaning operation with use of sanitising solutions is facilitated.
