    • A collapsible container has a base and a number of panels which are pivotally mounted to the base. When the container is being stored, the panels lie beside the base or upon the base, one on top of the other. When the container is in use, the panels are upright and define an enclosure. A latch is provided for interlocking adjacent panels. The latch has a slider which is slidable vertically when the container is upstanding and which slides between latch-locking and latch-unlocking positions. The latch further has a catch which is movable horizontally when the container is upstanding and which moves from a locking position for locking adjacent panels to an unlocking position. The latch has means for converting vertical movement of the slider to horizontal movement of the catch.

    • A reusable and returnable container for holding product therein during shipment and then being returned for reuse comprises a body having at least two opposing and moveable side structures, which are configured for being selectively moved into an erected position for shipment and moved into a collapsed position for reducing the size of the container for return. A dunnage structure spans between the side structures and is operably coupled to the side structures for moving to an erected position for receiving product when the side structures are erected and moving to a collapsed position in the body when the side structures are collapsed so that the dunnage remains with the container when returned. The dunnage structure has an open end facing at least one side structure of the body, and the side structure defines an open area which is in alignment with the dunnage structure open end for accessing the dunnage structure and transferring product into and out of the dunnage structure from a side of the container.

    • A collapsible, reusable, general purpose shipping box is made from an inexpensive polymer composition, and can be mass produced by extrusion or coextrusion. The boxes are extruded or coextruded in an almost wasteless production as endless webs of inner layouts and outer layouts, which are folded into respective configurations with one of the configurations being outer one and another inner one. The enclosure is assembled by inserting the inner configuration into the outer one and snap-connecting the complementary male-female locking elements already extruded into the layouts. An extruded web may be many layouts wide as a given extruder and die allow. The boxes can be easily assembled from substantially flat and rectangular layouts at the point of packaging, either by hand or by using a slightly modified and currently widely used box erection machine, and as easily disassembled for transportation and cleansing at the point of unloading.

    • A clear plastic package has an upper piece and a lower piece, each piece having a generally rectangular configuration, and the lower piece having front and rear edge portions, and opposing side edge portions. Along each edge portion of the lower piece there is a pivotable wall attached by way of a living hinge, and these walls can be rotated from a generally horizontal position to an upright position relative to the lower piece, and there is a longitudinally extending locking edge on a lower part of each wall that resiliently snaps into engagement with a cooperating fixed edge on a projection that extends longitudinally along the perimeter of the lower piece, when the walls are rotated to their upright positions, to hold the walls in their upright positions. The upper portion of each of the walls is so shaped that when they are in upright position, they cooperate to provide a recessed ledge. Extending along the perimeter of the upper piece is a downwardly projecting rib that is received within the recessed ledge of the lower piece, and adhesively secured therein to form a sealed enclosure for an article.
