    • A pedal stroke adjuster includes a pair of crank frames each of which is mounted on one of the crank arms of a bicycle or exercise machine. A mounting bracket, mounting blocks and spacers are used to align each crank frame in a vertical position when connected to a crank arm. The sides of the crank frame provide guide rails for a pedal mounting block and in one embodiment of the invention one of the guide rails is notched to receive a spring-loaded detent latch that is located in the pedal mounting block. A finger operated release mechanism is provided so that the latch may be removed from the notch and the position of the pedal mounting block changed. In an alternate embodiment, each guide rail is notched. The notches are offset so that the detent latches can be readily contained in the confined space of the block. In another embodiment of the invention, a threaded rod is used to move the pedal mounting block up and down within the crank frame and along the guide rails. Yet another embodiment of the invention, provides threaded apertures spaced along the pedal mounting bar that is attached to the crank arm as described hereinabove.

    • An adjustable pedal system for changing the position of pedals along the crank arms of an exercise bike. The system provides a locking member, such as a rack, located along the crank arm and a locking member, such as one or more gear teeth formed on a slide sleeve to which the pedal is affixed. Thus the slide sleeve and pedal can be slid along the crank arm to the desired position whereupon the locking members intermesh to positively lock the pedal in the desired location. The intermeshing is maintained by a clamping device, such as a thumb screw that is tightened to lock the pedals in the desired location and loosened to disengage the locking members to allow the movement of the pedals to another location. The system can be operated without the need for tools and can be retrofitted to existing exercise bikes.

    • A crank arm of a bicycle having an effective crank arm length that can be selectively adjusted for increasing the comfort and performance of the rider. The crank arm includes a crank arm member rotatably connected about a crank arm member rotational axis to a base member. The base member includes a spindle bore defining a spindle rotational axis, which is eccentric with respect to the crank arm member rotational axis. The opposite end of the crank arm member includes a pedal bore defining a pedal rotational axis. The crank arm further includes a fastener to selectively couple the base member to the crank arm member for rotation therewith.
