摘要： Systems for mounting and using portable electronic devices (PEDs) on vehicles make PEDs easier to secure to, transport on, and protect from the elements while mounted on the vehicle. One embodiment of a mounting system includes a PED cabinet having a hard, weatherproofed outer shell with the PED mounted therein, a harness system which detachably mounts the PED cabinet, and an anchor system which detachably mounts the harness system to the vehicle. The harness system may include a strap which wraps around the top of the PED cabinet to firmly hold the PED cabinet in place on a harness pad part of the harness system. The anchor system may include straps which connect to the motorcycle rearward of a motorcycle's gas tank and additional straps which connect to the motorcycle forward of the motorcycle's gas tank. The PED cabinet may include adjustable speakers mounted thereon. An accessory bar can be mounted to the vehicle. PEDs can be mounted to the accessory bar, and power outlets can be mounted to the accessory bar for powering PEDs on the vehicle.

The detachable component includes a pair of side plates each having a recess engageable with the mount, and the latching mechanisms each include a latching member pivotally mounted on the side plates movable relative to the side plates between an unlatched position, in which the recesses are engageable and disengageable with the mount, and a latched position, in which the recess is held in engagement with the mount. The detachable component assembly further includes a locking member movable relative to the latching member between an unlocked position, in which the latch member is movable between the latched and unlatched positions, and a locked position, in which the latch member is held in the latched position. A securing mechanism is coupled with the latching member, and is movable between a secured position and an unsecured position, wherein the locking member is prohibited from moving from the locked position to the unlocked position by the securing mechanism in the secured position.

The article cabinet includes a main body having a curved shape and substantially triangular lateral faces. A front end of the main body is formed with a receptacle in which personal effects of the rider can be conveniently placed. A cover board is disposed on the surface of the main body for openably covering the receptacle. Two lateral sides of the main body are respectively formed with opposite concave indentations and a C-shaped clip is inlaid in an inner wall of each of the indentations for clamping and locating a liquid container. When riding the bicycle, the curved article cabinet provides a flow deflecting effect to balance the center of gravity of the bicycle body and increase the riding speed.

The brace and the bracket are adapted for engagement and disengagement with and from each other. The brace includes a collar, a tongue, and opposed intermediate articulations between the collar and the tongue. The bracket includes a mount, a channel, a saddle, and opposed intermediate guides between the channel and the saddle. The collar is adapted to receive and to be affixed to a leg of the U-lock. The mount is adapted to abut against the bicycle frame. A strap tightly affixes the bracket to the bicycle frame. Mating of the brace and the bracket effect simultaneous engagement of (1) the tongue and the articulations of the brace, and (2) the channel and the guides of the bracket.
