    • A draft gear assembly includes a yoke and a coupler follower disposed within the yoke. A front compressible resilient member is disposed intermediate the yoke and the coupler follower. A rear compressible resilient member engages a back wall of the yoke at one end and engages a rear follower at a distal end. A center rod extends through the rear compressible resilient member and the rear follower and engages a shortening member. A plurality of stops members are attached to the back wall of the yoke for limiting compression of the rear compressible resilient member during buff travel. The stop members may be extended toward the coupler follower for limiting compression of the front compressible resilient member during draft travel. Alternatively, a center rod or elastomeric pads may be adapted for limiting compression of the resilient compressible members during buff and draft travel. Stops for limiting compression may be also attached to a center sill.

    • A free standing merchandiser or wire display rack is disclosed having a carrier detachably connected to a support means for supporting display merchandise such as books, food, or the like. The support means is formed as two elongated horizontally disposed spaced support rods that are offset both horizontally and vertically from one another with the upper support rod being located forwardly of the lower support element. The carrier has framework for supporting the displayed merchandise, and parallel mounting arms rearwardly upstanding from the framework terminating in novel hooks which hook onto a pair of spaced support rods. The hooks are formed with a first contiguous arm segment backfolded or angled relative to the upper part of the mounting arm to define a V-bend therebetween, and a second contiguous arm segment bent or angled relative to the first arm segment to extend in a direction away from the V-bend and the upper arm part. When the carrier is mounted on and connected to the support rods, the V-bend overlies the upper and forward support element presenting a smooth surface to the merchandise in the carrier while the first contiguous arm segment fits between the two support elements, and the second contiguous arm segment underlies the lower and rearward support element. These hooks with the V-bends therein can be fabricated to relatively close tolerances to define a relatively constant angle of inclination for each of the carriers.

    • The invention relates to a linkage for the articulated connection of a coupling rod to a railcar body, wherein the linkage comprises includes a base plate connectable to the railcar body in which a through-hole is configured through which a railcar body-side end section of the coupling rod extends and a drawgear arranged on the railcar body-side end section of the coupling rod. The drawgear has a front spring plate affixed to the coupling rod in front of the base plate in the longitudinal direction of the coupling rod and a rear spring plate affixed to the coupling rod behind the base plate in the longitudinal direction of the coupling rod. To achieve effective anti-rotation protection, the front spring element and/or rear spring element engages with the base plate such that the rotational forces transmitted from the coupling rod to the base plate is conducted at a right angle without slip.
