    • A track roller device comprising a shaft having a pair of axially spaced inside cylinders rotatably supported thereon, which cylinders have radially projecting annular flanges at the axially outer ends thereof. An intermediate cylinder is mounted on and surrounds the inside cylinders and is fixedly connected thereto. The intermediate cylinder has a radially outwardly projecting annular boss disposed substantially midway between the axial ends thereof. Separate rollers are removably mounted on the right and left ends of the intermediate cylinder and abut the opposite sides of the boss. The radial flanges of the inside cylinders are accommodated within cylindrical recesses formed in the radially outer ends of the rollers, and these flanges abut end walls formed on the rollers, whereby the rollers are thus axially confined between the flanges and the annular boss. A lubricant supply inlet extends radially through the boss for permitting lubricant to be supplied to suitable passages formed between the intermediate cylinder and the inside cylinders.

    • A conveyor roller wheel assembly comprising a roller member rotatably mounted on a hub member, as by means of a plain journal bearing or by rolling elements such as ball or roller bearings, between inner and outer seal flanges on the hub member, the hub member having a portion of reduced diameter between its ends and a lubrication passageway extending from an end face of the hub member and communicating with its reduced diameter portion through a surface thereof. Facing side surfaces of the roller member and seal flanges are shaped to define annular labyrinth seal passageways therearound of restricted cross section and of tortuous configuration radially of the conveyor wheel. One or more of the wheel assembly members may be constituted of moldings of sintered powered metal.

    • A mirror is oscillated through an angular arc defined by arc terminal points. Springs absorb the kinetic energy of halt at the terminal points, the springs returning the energy to the mirror thereby reversing the direction of oscillation thereof. Magnetic means coupled to the mirror provides a source of force to induce oscillation of the mirror and to bias the mirror to a position off the center point of the arc of oscillation when operative. The magnetic means is so driven by a square wave signal, having twice the frequency of oscillation, to create an intermittent force on the mirror that one portion of the square wave force aids movement of the mirror from its center point of oscillation towards one of the terminal points and another portion of the square wave force acts against movement (and spring energy) of the mirror from the terminal point towards the center point. Too slow or too fast movement of the mirror is compensated for by the square wave force. The mirror therefore moves at a substantially constant angular velocity between the terminal points.

    • A turbocharger includes a foil bearing assembly mounted in a center housing between a compressor and a turbine of the turbocharger. The bearing assembly forms a unit installable into the center housing from one end thereof, and the center housing is a one-piece construction. The bearing assembly includes a foil thrust bearing assembly disposed between two foil journal bearings. The journals foils are mounted in annular bearing carriers fixedly mounted in the center housing. A radially inner portion of a thrust disk of the thrust bearing assembly is captured between a shaft and a shaft sleeve of the turbocharger. The center housing defines cooling air passages for supplying cooling air to the foil bearings, and optionally includes a water jacket for circulating engine coolant through the center housing.
