    • A prop assembly for vehicle bed covers and the like comprises an L-shaped lower arm and a straight upper arm, each of which have a spring mount disposed between opposite ends thereof. The upper and lower arms are pivotally interconnected at adjacent ends in a manner which positions the arms in a vertically aligned relationship. Brackets pivotally connect the lower end of the lower arm with the vehicle bed, and the upper end of the upper arm with the cover. A longitudinally extending spring is disposed in a vertically aligned relationship with the lower and upper arms, and has opposed ends thereof pivotally connected with the spring mounts, such that outwardly extending biasing force generated by the spring assists in lifting the cover from the closed position and retains the cover in the open position.

    • A tonneau cover (10) for use on automotive vehicle has a plurality of panels (12, 14, 16). Each panel has a leading edge and a trailing edge configured to interlock with an adjacent panel. A pair of rails (18, 20) are mounted on opposite side walls (38, 40) of the vehicle in a position to support the panels. Each of the rails has a pivotally mounted plate (44) which pivots between a storage condition enabling the panels (12, 14, 16) to be received and stored between the rails and an operative condition supporting the panels. A plurality of latch assemblies (22, 42) operatively extends between each of the panels and each of the pair of rails. The latch assemblies (22, 42) selectively secure the plurality of panels (12, 14, 16) to the rails (18, 20).

    • A flip top locking topper for a pickup truck having a forward wall and a shell. A hinge support is rigidly attached to a forward end of the pickup box along with the forward wall. The shell, attached to the hinge support by one or more hinges, pivots to open and closed positions. A lift mechanism, such as a hydraulic cylinder, linear actuator, or mechanical screw operates to open and close the shell. One end of the lift mechanism can be attached to a lower position on the hinge support. The other end is attached to an inside top surface of the shell. One or more lock blocks are positioned on a lower edge of the sidewalls of the shell. As the shell is lowered, the lock blocks engage and enter stake bed opening on the truck bed sidewalls. From the closed position, the lift mechanism first lifts a forward edge from the forward wall, the pushed the shell rearward to disengage or unlock the lock blocks, and then the shell is pivoted upwards.
