The motor coach utilizes the sleeper portion of the original truck body and includes a rear body portion that is mounted to a frame of the tractor rearwardly of the sleeper portion. In an embodiment, the motor coach is manufactured by removing a significant portion of a rear panel of the sleeper portion, mounting the rear body against the sleeper, and securing a flange over a seam between the rear body and the sleeper. In an embodiment, the motor coach has multiple occupiable levels including an elevated level and a lower level which has a sunken floor that is vertically lower than the truck frame. Optionally, the motor coach includes a garage having a tiltable floor that supports an auxiliary vehicle during travel and pivots to slope downwardly for loading and unloading the auxiliary vehicle.

摘要： The present invention involves an extension unit for a structure, such as a recreational vehicle or manufactured housing component. The recreational vehicle or manufactured housing component structure has an exterior wall, and the extension unit provides additional interior space for the structure when in a deployed position. The extension unit comprises a floor, a roof, a first wall extending between the floor and roof, a second wall operably coupled to the first wall and extending between the floor and roof, a pivotal connection linking the first wall and one of the second wall and exterior wall, and a biasing mechanism for biasing the first wall into the other of the second wall and exterior wall in the deployed condition. The pivotal connection links the first wall to the second wall, while the biasing mechanism biases an edge of the first wall into the exterior wall in both the deployed position and the retracted position. The biasing mechanism includes a coil spring operably coupled to the first side wall. The first side wall includes a side floor portion, with the side floor portion extending out of the floor in the deployed position. A drive shaft, operably coupled to the floor, carries a motor, and the motor is connected to the structure to move the floor, and hence the entire extension unit, relative to the structure. The roof comprises a hinged portion and a slidable portion, with the slidable portion being operably coupled to a guide rail within the structure and the hinged portion including a seal which abuts the slidable portion in the deployed position. In a second embodiment of the invention, the pivotal connection links the first wall to the exterior wall, and the biasing mechanism biases an edge of the first wall into the second wall in both the deployed position and the retracted position. In either embodiment, the pivotal connection includes a sealing mechanism for forming a seal along the pivotal connection in both the deployed position and the retracted position.

The slide-out further has an extensible portion front end positioned external to the wall opening such that the dimensions of the extensible portion front end exceed the dimensions of the wall opening. The extensible portion front end contacts the main cabin wall opening periphery along the entire perimeter of the wall opening thus completely sealing the wall opening when the slide-out is in a fully retracted position. Further, the slide-out locks are positioned sufficiently close to the extensible portion front end that when the slide-out is in a retracted position and the slide-out locks are in the locked position, the main cabin wall periphery is pinched between the slide-out locks and the extensible portion front end.

Each of the access doors has a locking member that is interconnected to the central actuator. Thus, the central actuator may be configured to lock or unlock selected group of doors simultaneously. The locking members and the central actuator may be linked mechanically, electromagnetically, hydraulically, pneumatically, or in any number of ways. The central actuator advantageously permits an RV user to lock or unlock groups or all of the access doors simultaneously while inside the RV, or by using the remote transmitter.
