摘要： A plate replacing apparatus for a printing press having plate lockup devices for fixing the two ends of a plate located in a gap of the circumferential surface of a plate cylinder and wound around the circumferential surface includes an old plate holding mechanism and a new plate holding mechanism. The old plate holding mechanism receives and holds an old plate removed upon release of the plate lockup devices and pivotal movement of the plate cylinder. The new plate holding mechanism removes the old plate and feeds a new plate to the plate cylinder.

摘要： An automatic printing machine including an automatic plate loading device wherein a water duct mechanism is first activated after which a form roller mechanism is operated to cause form rollers to contact a plate cylinder. After this, the plate loading device forms a plate loading operation in which an original plate is satisfactorily fitted onto the plate cylinder wherein the plate surface is prevented from being contaminated by ink. Satisfactory printing results are obtained as soon as the plate is loaded onto the plate cylinder so that the first printing sheet is satisfactory and there is no waste of printing sheets.

摘要： In an offset printing plate having an automatic plate clamping and discharging device, light reflected from or transmitted through both side edges of a plate feed passageway and/or plate cylinder is intercepted by a pair of photoelectric effect elements whereby mis-alignment of the plate edges provides a detectable different electrical output in each photoelectric element. When the printing plate is fed under normal conditions and/or when the printing plate is correctly clamped around the plate cylinder, only a clamp means for clamping the plate around the plate cylinder is actuated. When the plate is fed under abnormal conditions and/or is not correctly clamped, a plate discharge means is also actuated in addition to the clamp means so that the plate which is once clamped, is removed from the plate cylinder and discharged out of the printing press. The plate clamp means as well as discharge means are controlled by electronic circuit means.

摘要： A plate cassette loader for a platesetter comprises a cassette holder for receiving a cassette, containing a stack of plates. A cassette inverter then rotates this cassette to a feed position in which the plates can be fed into the imaging engine of the platesetter. In this way, the somewhat unwieldy process of loading plates into the imaging engine is handled by the cassette inverter, in combination with the fact that the stack of plates, contained in the cassette, can be loaded in one step, rather than requiring the feeding of individual plates by a dedicated operator.
