摘要： An apparatus for displaying cards and papers in the workplace includes a central shaft portion having a pair of ends, with each end including a generally semicircular ring portion adapted to capture the slots of one or more cards. The central shaft portion may be releasably captured in a channel of a universal mount or a single- or double swing arm portion. Removal of the shaft portion from the channel permits the shaft portion to be split open along a break, thereby opening the rings along breaks in the manner of a split-ring binder. Alternatively, the shaft portion may be used alone (without a mount or swing arms) to hold a quantity of cards. The swing arms may be hinged upon a base portion and attached to the chassis or peripheral surface surrounding a computer video monitor, so that the swing arms and shaft portion can swing forward and around to fit the user's viewing preferences. When affixed to a monitor, the semicircular rings facilitate easy installation and flipping of slotted cards and/or papers.

摘要： A platen knob includes a first hollow cylinder having one bottom wall, a second hollow cylinder extending from the interior surface of the bottom wall coaxially with the first cylinder. The second cylinder is fitted on a shaft of a cylindrical platen through a hollow boss of a casing housing the platen. A cavity defined between the sidewalls of the cylinders receives a vibration-proof lining and/or an acoustical layer. The lining suppresses a vibration of the platen knob. The acoustical layer seals the boss of the casing and leaks no noise from the interior of an electronic apparatus including a platen.

摘要： The present invention is an improved media advancement mechanism for use in combination with a printer that includes a frame, a print head mechanically coupled to the frame and a platen mechanically coupled to the frame so that a print media may pass between it and the print head. The printer also includes a pair of sprockets which are adapted to support the print media and which are mechanically coupled to the frame by a sprocket shaft. The improved media advancement mechanism includes a ratchet wheel which is mechanically coupled to the sprocket shaft in order to provide rotational motion thereto in response to an electrical signal from the printer thereby moving the print media incrementally. The improved media advancement mechanism also includes an adjustment plate pivotally coupled to a sidewall of the frame and a restraining device for restraining the adjustment plate from its pivotal motion. The improved media advancement mechanism further includes a solenoid with an armature which receives an electrical signal from the printer and which is mechanically coupled to and disposed on the surface of the adjustment plate, a pawl which is mechanically coupled to the armature of the solenoid and which is disposed so that it can mechanically engage the teeth of the ratchet wheel in order to impart rotational motion thereto and a spring which mechanically couples the pawl to the adjustment plate.

摘要： There is described a record material feed mechanism for use in an electronic cash register for feeding a record member to a printing station wherein data is printed on print lines located on the record member during the operation of the cash register. The feed mechanism will automatically position each succeeding print line of the record member adjacent the printing station on successive printing operations of the cash register. Included in the feed mechanism are a pair of cam actuated gear segments which control the length of movement of the record member between a home position and a position adjacent the printing station in the cash register. During the feeding of the record member to the printing station, the gear segments are positioned in tandem to move the record member a predetermined length while in a feed-out operation, the segments are positioned in an overlap condition to move the record member a distance which is one print line less than the feed-in movement.
