摘要： A method for modifying a ceramic matrix component is disclosed including identifying a non-conforming region of a composite component capable of operating in a gas turbine engine; removing at least a portion of the non-conforming region to create an exposed surface of the composite component; preparing a preform in response to the removing at least a portion of the non-conforming region; applying a reactive constituent surface region to at least one of the exposed surface of the composite component and the preform, the reactive constituent surface region being capable of producing a non-equilibrium condition; positioning the preform to provide a contact region between the exposed surface of the composite component and the preform proximate the reactive constituent surface region; and reacting the reactive constituent surface region in an equilibrium reaction at the contact region to form a bond structure between the exposed surface of the composite component and the preform.

摘要： In a concrete-wrapped pipe having an inner water-impermeable resinous coating, the concrete wrapping is formed with a continuous inner portion covering the resinous coating and a helically slotted outer portion, the helical slot extending at least to the depth of a mesh reinforcement embedded in the concrete. The structure is characterized by the fact that the inner portion of the concrete wrapping is formed with one or more helically extending zones of reduced compressive strength, radially aligned with the helical slot or slots in the outer portion. The helical configuration breaks the continuity of the concrete wrapping in the longitudinal direction of the pipe and, even with pipe of relatively large diameter, enables the wrapping to accommodate limited bending of the pipe.

At least one belt is applied against the mandrel by means of a pressure head which is fitted with elastic means so that the belt and mandrel can be relatively displaced as a result of increasing thickness of the layers which are deposited on the mandrel. Multiple carriages supporting separate mandrels may be mounted on the track for movement into contact with the conveyor belt and formation of separate pipe products, the track allowing the carriages to transport the mandrels and pipes to hardening and separation stations with ultimate return of the mandrel to the conveyor-belt for additional pipe information.
