摘要： A method using a sheathed surgical apparatus includes equalizing a pressure differential between a surgical insufflation gas pressure and an initial pressure lower than the insufflation gas pressure. The insufflation gas pressure is external to a portion of a surgical apparatus upon which a sheath is disposed, and the initial pressure is within the surgical apparatus. The equalizing of the pressure differential occurs via permeation of insufflation gas through the sheath.

摘要： The present invention relates to a medical implant which is vacuum-packed within an air tight cover material. Further, the present invention relates to a medical device for making a medical implant covered by an air tight cover material, wherein the medical device comprises at least an underpressure generating device and a sealing device, wherein the sealing device is arranged for air tight sealing of the cover material while the medical implant is located within the cover material, wherein the underpressure generating device is coupled or can be coupled with a space which is surrounded by the cover material, and wherein the underpressure generating device and the sealing device are controllable such that after generating a certain underpressure within the space surrounded by the cover material through the underpressure generating device the sealing device is activatable to seal the cover material in an air tight manner to form an air tight protection cover around the medical implant located therein. Further, the present invention relates to a method for making a medical implant covered by an air tight cover material, comprising the steps a) providing the medical implant, b) providing sterile cover material in the form of at least one or at least two pieces, c) placing the medical implant within a space surrounded by the at least one or at least two pieces of the cover material, d) creating an underpressure within the space surrounded by the at least one or at least two pieces of the cover material by evacuating air from this space, e) air tight sealing of the cover material.

摘要： The present invention provides systems and methods for performing robotically-assisted surgical procedures on a patient. In particular, a three-component surgical system is provided that includes a non-sterile drive and control component, a sterilizable end effector or surgical tool and an intermediate connector component that includes mechanical elements for coupling the surgical tool with the drive and control component and for transferring motion and electrical signals therebetween. The drive and control component is shielded from the sterile surgical site, the surgical tool is sterilizable and disposable and the intermediate connector is sterilizable and reusable. In this manner, the intermediate connector can be sterilized after a surgical procedure without damaging the motors or electrical connections within the drive and control component of the robotic system.

The surgical instrument includes a frame; an articulated link; a tendon associated with the actuator, having proximal and distal portions secured to the link. A transmission device in contact with the tendon proximal portion exerts a traction action. The transmission device has one degree of freedom of motion relative to the frame. The pushing device releasably and selectively connects with the transmission device to transmit a pushing action to the transmission device through the sterile barrier. An elastic device biases the transmission device to exert a traction action on the tendon.

摘要： A surgical drape allows access to a vaginal area during cesarean sections without breaking a sterile field. The drape comprises a base sheet defined by an incision panel that overlays a peritoneal region, where the cesarean section primarily occurs; and a vagina panel that overlays a vaginal area. The incision panel has a transparent polymer film panel for viewing the incision. A collection pouch catches bodily fluids. The vagina panel enables sterile manipulation of the vagina while performing the cesarean section. The vagina panel is defined by a viewing pane for viewing the vaginal region through the base sheet. A sleeve extends through a hole in the viewing pane to manipulate the vaginal region and a baby. The sleeve is configured to allow insertion of a hand through an open end, and then manipulate the vaginal region with a closed end without breaking a sterile field.
