摘要： A hemostatic device is provided to stop bleeding at a puncture site on the wrist of a patient, the device comprising a transparent flexible band to be wrapped at the site where the bleeding is to be stopped, a curved frame having an inner peripheral side and possessing a first curved portion in its first half and a second curved portion in its second half, a first balloon provided on the inner peripheral side in the first half of the curved frame and a second balloon provided on the inner peripheral side in the second half of the curved frame. The bleeding from a first artery is stopped by compressing the first artery at the puncture site using inflation of the first balloon and the blood flow in the first artery is increased by compression of a second artery using inflation of the second balloon.

The blade unit includes a body, a slot within said body to releasably engage the finger protruding from the handle, a scalpel blade attached to said body, and a blade cover slideably engaged to said body and configured for movement between a forward, protective position fully covering said blade and a retracted position to expose said blade for use. The cover has open front and rear ends to permit said blade and said body respectively to protrude through opposing ends of said cover when said cover is moved between said positions.

摘要： A scalpel (10) having a handle assembly (16) and one of a plurality of modular blade assemblies (18). Each blade assembly includes a casing (46) within which is a retractable rod (48) having a distal end to which is permanently affixed a blade (12), and also includes a spring (56) having an unstressed state wherein the retractable rod and its blade are retracted within the casing. The handle assembly (16) includes a handle casing (20) within which is slidably disposed a handle rod (32) that is manipulatable between a retracted position and an active position with respect to the handle casing. In the active position, the handle rod's distal end engages and pushes the proximal end (66) of the retractable rod (48) to urge the blade (12) distally for performance of a procedure, while in the retracted position, the handle rod (32) permits the retractable rod (48) to self-retract within its casing (46).

摘要： A scalpel blade storage device, including a cover having a first lever arm and a second lever arm defined therein and further including a base. The base has a face defining a blade pocket therein having a distal portion adapted to receive a blade portion of a surgical scalpel blade and a proximal portion adapted to receive a shank portion of a surgical scalpel blade. The base is disposed adjacent to the cover, with the face in which the blade pocket is defined facing said cover. A plurality of arms is fixed to one of the base and the cover. The arms envelop at least a portion of the other of the base and the cover to retain the base and the cover in a sliding relationship. The cover is movable between a first closed position in which the blade pocket is completely covered by the cover, and a second open position in which the blade pocket is at least partially uncovered. The invention further includes methods of withdrawing a scalpel blade to the storage device and mounting it on a scalpel handle, and for demounting the scalpel blade and returning it to the storage.
