摘要： A hair curling iron that forms spiral curls having an integral vacuum system and an internal heating tube is designed to eliminate the need for manual rotation of the entire curling iron when forming spiral hair curls. The curling iron provides a slot into which the hair is pulled by an integral vacuum fan mounted within the handle and controlled by an on/off pushbutton. When activated, the vacuum fan pulls the hair into the curling iron and around an interior heating tube. After several seconds, the pushbutton is released and a spiral curl is pulled out of the curling iron. A separate illuminating switch provides control of the heating portion of the curling iron. The danger of accidental burns is greatly reduced due to the interior location of the hot surfaces.

The center core includes a central opening extending from a first end of the core to a second end of the core such that air is permitted to pass through the center core. The mesh provides support for a lock of hair wrapped onto the mesh and core sufficient to prevent the hair from being damaged during permanent wave hairstyling. The mesh allows fluid applied to the hair to easily pass therethrough such that at least a portion of the fluid applied to the hair is evaporated as air passes through the center core.

摘要： A method and system for the application of hair treatment solution, such as permanent solutions, to the hair is disclosed according to the preferred embodiment of the present invention. Specifically, the present invention includes hair curlers having cylindrically shaped outside surfaces and hollow interiors. After the curler is rolled in the hair, vapor retainers may be placed around the hair rolled on the hair curler. The vapor retainer includes in its most preferred form, first and second semicircular members hinged together for defining a hair treatment solution receiving volume. Vaporized hair treatment solution may be injected into the interior of the hair curler for communication with the hair located within the vapor retainer. In its most preferred form, the curler includes a frustro-conical portion extending into the interior of the curler and having a closure formed from wedge-shaped flaps. The injector includes in its most preferred form a member for opening the flap closure of the hair curlers and further includes a source of heated, pressurized air and a member for delivering hair treatment solution into the stream of pressurized, heated air for vaporizing the hair treatment solution for introduction into the hair curler. After the hair treatment solution is allowed to set, the retainers may be removed and clips attached to the curlers for retaining the hair curlers in their rolled position in the hair. At that time, the hair may be rinsed and/or a neutralizer solution applied. Thereafter, the clips and curlers may be removed from the hair.

In addition, the center of the rod is axially offset from its extremities towards the larger circular segment.

摘要： Fiber supports include a base and hydrophilic polyurethane foam that directly contacts the fibers while being elastic and flexible for reshaping. Hydrophilic polyurethane foam has a density to hold over nineteen times its weight in liquids that absorb into the fibers in direct contact with the foam over time. Supports may be any shape or size, and may be rigid or flexible. Cylindrical shapes are useable to permit winding, curling, or spiraling of fibers about the support. The fibers are directly affixed to the foam for support and shaping. A clasp may be clamped or snapped over the fibers and foam support to compress the two directly together. If the support is flexible, the foam may be reshaped with the fibers, holding the shape during wearing or drying. During such wearing or drying, liquid held in the foam may be absorbed directly into the fiber, resulting in favorable chemical treatment.

The inlet includes a shroud which is dimensioned to closely encompass the perm rod. A motor and fan are provided for producing a substantial vacuum at the inlet and a flow of air from the inlet to the outlet. The substantial vacuum pulls water from the wet hair and the flow of air transports the water toward the outlet. The device further includes one or more water separators for removing the water from the flow of air. The water separated from the air is stored in a holding tank or communicated directly to a plumbing drain. By drawing a flow of air through the wet hair in this manner, surface tension tending to hold water in capillary size passages defined between adjacent hair strands is overcome, thus entraining water droplets in the air flow for collection.
