    • A hardware assembly, which is readily adaptable to luggage cases of widely varying constructions, dimensions and configurations, includes a housing which may be positioned within cut-outs in adjacent edges of the side walls of the luggage case, and be mounted on the exterior of one side wall. The housing contains slideable latches for engaging associated hasps mounted on the exterior of the other side wall, and a flexible member connecting the latches to a slideable actuator mounted on the housing for opening the case. The coupling between the latches and the flexible member allows the latches to move to unlatching position independently of the actuator to facilitate closing and latching of the case when the parts are brought together. The actuator is U-shaped and supported for transverse movement on the housing by a rocker located within the housing. A combination lock, which may have its combination changed by a push button projecting through the top of the housing, may be included for preventing movement of the actuator necessary to open the case.

    • By providing two separate and independent locking systems formed in a single padlock, with both locking systems independently enabling the single shackle to be released and/or lockingly engaged, an effective, easily produced, multi-purpose padlock is achieved. In the preferred embodiment, a single housing and shackle assembly are employed and constructed for enabling the shackle to be released from locked engagement with the housing using either a rotatable dial combination construction or a key activating tumbler construction. In this way, a dual locking and releasing padlock is achieved which virtually eliminates the difficulties typically encountered with known, prior art lock configurations.

    • A detachable push button firearm lock is provided. The lock comprises; a housing, and a plurality of pin sets. The housing halves are interlocking and separation capable thereby locking or making available a desired firearm. Access blocking means for the ammunition, magazine, bolt, breech, hammer, slide, actions, and firing capability is also provided. The lock is user recodable by providing a plurality of identical corresponding locking and unlocking pins, when rotated end over end, cause a combination change. Tamper resistance as well as accompanying tamper resistant unlocking means is also disclosed. Optional ease of use features including open latch, closed latch, open stop, and digit grips are also depicted. Further, optional portability and or stationary mounting means are also provided as well as display only means. The arrangement of basic, simplified, tamper resistant, and or optional features illustrates a means whereby a economical, multiple firearm applicable, and user friendly firearm security device can be employed.

    • An easily assembled combination lock has improved tumbler wheel construction, combination changing apparatus, and a bi-positional lock cover which selects between spring-bolt and dead-bolt operation. The improved tumbler wheels have two-piece construction, an inner drive member having a projection, groove and stop assembly cooperating with adjacent tumbler wheels, and a gate ring having a gate and improved gripping apparatus for frictionally engaging the gate ring with the inner drive member. The inner drive member has multiple ratchet teeth about its periphery and the improved gripping apparatus includes a pair of diametrically opposed gripping straps integral with the gate ring, in tension, and tangentially contacting the periphery of the inner drive member imparting a predetermined frictional resistance to rotation. Two normal modes of tumbler wheel operation are contemplated. Mode selecting structure is included on the lock cover to select between spring-bolt mode of bolt operation and dead-bolt mode of bolt operation merely by changing the orientation of the lock cover relative to the lock mechanism and housing.
