摘要： A device for removing a thin outer layer from the surface of a cartridge or tubular container such as a caulk cartridge for removal of ink, contaminant, adhesive, or printed or stamped label from the outside of the cartridge. The apparatus includes cartridge hopper and a cartridge handling mandrel or plunger which automatically removes a cartridge from the hopper aligning same for insertion of the cartridge axially through the throat of a spinning ring which contains at least one and preferably a plurality of inwardly extending knifes. The spinning knife distal end trims or peels off the label, adhesive, ink, imperfections, or even a thin film from an outer layer of a selected thickness effectively reconditioning the cartridge for reuse to be filled with virgin material or to be used as uncontaminated re-ground material to be sold as scrap.

摘要： An automatic high-precision layer cutting device for separating a layer from a semiconductor substrate. The cutting device includes a fixed positioning member for receiving at least a portion of a semiconductor substrate that has a weakened area therein and a peripheral annular notch that is located below the weakened area. The positioning member maintains a predetermined position of the substrate on a support. The device also includes cutting means having at least one blade for contacting the substrate and for inducing a cleaving wave into the substrate. The cutting means is operatively associated with the positioning member so that the at least one blade contacts the annular notch and the positioning member prevents movement of the substrate. The at least one blade induces a cleaving wave of sufficient intensity to both divide the substrate at the notch into first and second parts and detach the layer from the substrate along the weakened area.

The drums are heated with an open flame to loosen the adhesive before the labels, paint, and adhesive are abraded from the drums with the brushes. A "soft-touch" pneumatic controller is connected to the brushes to maintain optimum contact of the brushes with the drum and to prevent premature wearing of the brushes. The drum is moved horizontally relative to the brushes during the brushing process to prevent stripes of paint being left on the drum by the brushes.

摘要： A machine for removing tubular plastic labels from bottles to facilitate their re-use and recycling. The machine has a multi-station turret and supply and exit conveyors to sequentially supply labeled bottles in line to the turret and remove delabeled bottles from the turret. The delabeling is accomplished with a cutter which is preferably in the form of a high-pressure jet of water. Ideally, the cutter is adjusted so that it is a differential cutter which will cut a label without cutting or marring a bottle from which a label is being removed. With one embodiment, a water flush mechanism is provided to flush cut labels from their bottles and the turret onto a screen conveyor. The flush water passes through the conveyor into a container from which it is pumped for re-use. Removed labels are transported by the screen conveyor to a collection bin. With another embodiment, an air blast mechanism is used to strip cut labels from bottles and a vacuum pick up is used to collect stripped labels.

摘要： A system and method are disclosed for constructing a rotatable label and attaching the rotatable label to a container. The rotatable label system comprises an inner label attached to the container and a rotatable outer label. The inner label may have adhesive on a rear surface of a trailing end alone, adhesive on a rear surface of both the leading and trailing end for fixedly attaching it to a container, or adhesive on the entire rear surface. The outer label may only have adhesive on a rear surface at or near a trailing end to secure the outer label to itself. The outer label is temporarily coupled to, the container while the outer label is wrapped around the container. Once the trailing end is attached to a front surface of the outer label at or near a leading end of the outer label, the outer label can be rotated about the container over the inner label. Longitudinal movement of the outer label relative to the container may be restricted by disposing the outer label between top and bottom label panels formed on the container. The outer label is preferably adapted with a transparent portion or window permitting viewing of indicia disposed on the inner label.
