    • A power conversion apparatus and a power conversion method are provided. The power conversion apparatus includes a rectifier configured to convert AC power to DC power, a smoothing filter configured to control the DC power received from the rectifier to be constant, an inverter configured to convert the DC power received from the smoothing filter into high-frequency power by turning the DC power on and off using a switching device, and a control unit configured to control the rectifier and the inverter. A rating of output power from the inverter is determined in accordance with a frequency of the high-frequency power output from the inverter, a current-applying time, and an operation rate obtained by dividing the current-applying time by a sum of the current-applying time and a non-current-applying time.

    • A power supply device and method for a household appliance is disclosed.     • A conventional induction heating cooker which operates two inverters at the same time, with only one input current detecting circuit provided, cannot measure each of input currents to each of the plurality of inverters, and cannot control input powers by feedback control on input currents. In the induction heating cooker which has a plurality of inverters, when the input power varies to the inverter which has less input power supplied, the variation hardly influences the cooking. The induction heating cooker according to the present invention fixes the operating frequency for the inverter which has less input power supplied and performs the feedback control of the input current for the inverter which has bigger input power supplied.

    • The purpose of the present invention is to minimize switching losses of an inverter. An induction heating device includes: a plurality of induction heating coils (20) which are disposed adjacent with each other; a plurality of inverters (30), each of which has a capacitor (40) serially connected to each of the induction heating coils (20), and converts a DC voltage into a square wave voltage; and a control circuit (15) which controls so as to align the phase of coil currents flowing though the plurality of the induction heating coils (20), wherein the control circuit (15) controls the timing at which the square wave voltage transitions such that an instantaneous value of the square wave voltage is preserved in either the DC voltage or a turnover voltage, when the coil current zero crosses.
