    • Systems and methods for obfuscating an image include creation of a plurality of obfuscated images from an original image, and successive display of the obfuscated images on a display device. Successive display of the images creates a representation of the original image perceivable by a user. Creation of the obfuscated images can include application of a set of masks to the original image, or to multiple starting images created by separating the original image based on characteristics, such as color. Portions of the original image or starting images corresponding to selected regions of the mask can be displayed, while portions corresponding to other regions can be concealed. Use of complementary masks results in the generation of complementary obfuscated images that, when combined, would form the original image. As a result, attempts to use a screen capture would only acquire the single obfuscated image displayed at the moment of the capture.

    • Apparatus for identifying video content includes a scene detector to detect a plurality of consecutive scenes in the video content. The video content may include a video program and an advertisement contained within the video program. A signature generator determines a scene change signature for each of the plurality of consecutive scenes. A content identifier provides the plurality of scene change signatures to a comparator that compares the plurality of scene change signatures to a database having a plurality of video content items to identify the video program. The database includes an ordered plurality of previously determined scene change signatures for each item of video content in the database. The content identifier receives an identification of the video content from the comparator. The content identifier may further receive information related to a position of the plurality of scene change signatures within the ordered plurality of previously determined scene change signatures.

    • A method for identifying motion video/audio content, by means of comparing a video A to a registered video B so as to determine if they are originally the same as each other, wherein said method at least comprises the steps of extracting a fingerprint A from the video A; and searching from a fingerprint database for a pre-extracted and registered fingerprint B of the video B by means of comparison of fingerprint A with a sliding window of a possible fingerprint B, so as to determine that the video A is visually identical to the video B if a match is found. According to the present invention, the method for extracting a fingerprint data from video/audio signals facilitates the automatic identification, archiving and search of video content, and can be of without the need for human visual inspections.
