The multimedia terminal adapter sends the IP address list to the first communication device, and receives a selected IP address of a selected second communication from the first communication device. The multimedia terminal adapter further searches one user port corresponding to the selected IP address, and opens the searched user port to establish a remote connection between the first communication device and the selected second communication device.

摘要： An overlay network of connection ID (called CID) processing nodes, called C-nodes, is deployed to solve joint IP mobility, NAT traversal, and path identity problems, in a unified framework. The CIDs can either be globally unique or unique at local C-nodes. CIDs can be modified along a path, and each connection is enabled to send packets in multiple paths via multiple IP networks. It is also possible to direct a path to traverse through a particular node. Double-sided/single-sided mobility, with double-sided/single-sided NAT traversal problems are solved using C-nodes deployed as terminal software, gateways, or relays.

摘要： At the time of exchanging routing information of a remote site, it is examined whether there is duplicated routing information, and when the duplicated routing information exists, an address conversion rule is generated. With this, when performing communication, address conversion is performed only for the communication to a site having a duplicated network address. In case of communication to a site having no duplicated network address, by performing IP communication intact, it becomes possible to omit unnecessary address conversion processing in a gateway. Also, when there is a duplicated address, by assigning a new network address which is not used in a site under a gateway to the duplicated address included in the routing information, and distributing the newly assigned address, it becomes possible to transmit a packet to a gateway appropriate to each destination, when there are a plurality of gateways in a subnet.

摘要： A software based system for facilitating streaming of media files to a device over a wide area network (WAN) includes an agent process, an authentication process, a client services process and a client process. The agent process catalogs local media files and advises the authentication process of it's availability on the WAN and the address at which it may be contacted. The client process contacts the client services process to obtain, after authenticating with it, the WAN address of the agent process and contacts the agent process to receive information or meta-data describing the media files available for streaming. The client process obtains information for forming a URI or playlist, that it then passes to a media player to request the stream over the WAN. Alternately, the client process may direct the agent process to pass the URL to another client process on, for example, the same local area network.

摘要： The invention provides an apparatus and method to establish media sessions for media streams crossing a network boundary. The system includes a media relay controlled by a media configurator control module. The media relay reserves media paths (that include ports in the network boundary), opens the media paths, closes the media paths, and provides information about the media paths. A media configurator is adapted to communicate with the media configurator control module and the media relay. The control module has an event handler handling multimedia session events, a local address resolver that determines if an address identifier of the media session belongs to a private address space and a control element used to establish the media path. The control element manages resources for the media relay. A state-refresh timer is used to maintain state consistency between all media relays controlled by a proxy engine and control elements.
