摘要： A terminal device for a multiplexed data transmission system has a decoder matrix having plural groups of function setting inputs for selecting plural types of functions such as interface, operation modes and other. One group of the function setting inputs are preferably address designating signals which are utilized for determining the interface. The other group of the function setting inputs determines various additional functions such as, for example, enabling/disabling of fail-safe function and automatic transmission function. Selection with the aid of the matrix allows selection of a large number of functions with a small number of input signals. Utilization of the address signals to this end allows the number of terminal pins to be decreased to a minimum.

摘要： The apparatus comprises an electronic teleprinter constituted by a first set of basic peripheral units such as the printer, keyboard etc. as well as a punch/reader, arranged to converse directly with the line and controlled by a first central unit, and a second set of peripheral units such as a disc unit, one line display and VDU controlled by a second CPU and able to execute more sophisticated operations such as the automatic filing of messages, their display etc. The two CPUs each autonomously control their own peripheral units with simultaneous processing, and periodically communicate with each other for the exchange of data and commands by way of an interface in an auxiliary unit. The CPU of the basic machine is thus free to handle the basic input/output procedures without having to service the auxiliary peripherals.

摘要： A remote control system for data communication includes a local modem as an initiating modem and a remote modem as a responding modem coupled by an analog duplexed channel, and a pair of intermediate modems coupled by a digital duplexed channel, inserted between the initiating and the responding modes. Each intermediate modem includes communication control circuitry to translate a port designation from the initiating modem into a port designation corresponding to the responding modem. Thus, the system makes it possible to simply designate a port of the remote modem to effect designation of a corresponding port of the local modem with the initiating modem having no information indicating correspondence between the port of the responding modem and those of the initiating modem.

摘要： A method and apparatus for a computer-telephone interface system by which a general purpose personal computer is enabled to perform telephone functions such as dialing, answering ringing lines, and placing lines on hold without the need for a separate telephone instrument. The interface system is responsive to digital signals received from a microprocessor in the computer to implement the signalling functions utilized in a standard switched telephone network. The interface system performs dialing sequences entered either from the keyboard of the computer, a location in the computer memory, a location on a display screen associated with the computer or a location specified by a cursor used in association with the keyboard. Operation of the interface system does not interfere with the concurrent operation by the computer of an applications program.

摘要： This invention is an interface arrangement which interconnects a business communication system with a telephone station set. This interface is implemented in a personal computer which serves to control the operation of the associated telephone station set and also provide business communication services. All signaling from the business communication system is received by the personal computer, interpreted, and appropriate control signals are then forwarded under control of the software resident on the personal computer to activate the digital telephone station set. The signals from the digital telephone station set are intercepted by the personal computer, interpreted, modified and appropriate control messages and signaling are then forwarded by the personal computer to the business communication system.This arrangement enables a user to create software the personal computer to control the operation of the telephone station set associated with the personal computer. The user can implement new features and services independent of the operation of the business communication system.
