摘要： An apparatus includes a memory configured to store a first program for executing a cell search process on data transmitted from another wireless device, and a second program for executing a demodulation process and/or a decoding process after the cell search process. The apparatus includes a first processor configured to execute the first program, and a second processor configured to execute the second program. The apparatus loads the first program stored in the memory in the first processor. When the first processor is requested to perform the cell search process by executing the first program, the apparatus loads the first program in the second processor, and executes the cell search process on the data in a parallel manner by causing the first and second processors to execute the first program.

摘要： The present solution relates to a method for searching for a cell in a cellular mobile communication system having low memory requirement. The method comprises: receiving in a receiver a signal carrying a reference signal having a first data rate, decimating the signal to generate a down-sampled signal having a second data rate, phase-compensating a phase distortion introduced by the decimating, and correlating the down-sampled signal against a phase-compensated local reference signal or a phase-compensated down-sampled signal against a local reference signal. When buffering the down-sampled signal prior or subsequent to phase-compensating, the buffer size is minimized as 1× oversampling is employed compared to 2× oversampling of current solutions.

摘要： In wireless communications systems, a client terminal performs cell search procedure to find a suitable cell and camp on it to receive service from the network. In 3GPP LTE wireless communication system, the initial cell search involves the decoding of the Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH) which may take a long time to decode which affects the time it takes to camp on an appropriate cell. One of the reasons for this is that conventional methods perform PBCH decoding sequentially to find a suitable cell. A method and apparatus are disclosed that perform the PBCH decoding in parallel for multiple cells. This method enables the client terminal to camp on a cell and receive service faster than conventional methods.

摘要： Estimating and compensating the frequency offset between a transmitter and a receiver is essential for reliable communication in wireless communication systems. Before a client terminal synchronizes with a base station, the initial frequency offset may be high. The frequency offset estimation may need to be performed even without having time synchronization with a base station. In case of cellular systems multiple base stations may be using the same RF channel to transmit their signals. The signals from different base stations may be superimposed at the receiver of the client terminal. A method and apparatus are disclosed for frequency offset estimation in presence of the signals from multiple base stations and with unknown timing of the base station.

A receiver provides a composite signal comprising the plurality of modulated carrier signals received simultaneously. An ADC generates samples of the composite signal, and the samples of the composite signal are divided into a plurality of blocks. The samples of each block are transformed into frequency domain components, and the frequency domain components of each block are divided into a plurality of groups, each group corresponding to a range of frequencies occupied by a different one of the modulated carrier signals. Tone burst detection is performed on each group, and it is determined which of the modulated carrier signals is modulated with the tone burst, according to which of the groups the tone burst is detected in.
