    • The present invention comprises a method and apparatus for controlling an IGBT device. The method comprises, upon receipt of a first and at least one further IGBT control signals, the first IGBT control signal indicating a required change in operating state of the IGBT device, controlling an IGBT driver module for the IGBT device to change an operating state of the IGBT device by applying a first logical state modulation at an input of an IGBT coupling channel, and applying at least one further modulation to the logical state at the input of the IGBT coupling channel in accordance with the at least one further IGBT control signal within a time period from the first logical state modulation, the time period being less than a state change reaction period Δt for the at least one IGBT device.

    • A drive circuit controls application of alternating current power to a load. The drive circuit includes an oscillator which applies a high frequency signal to a first input of a logic gate. A control signal is applied to a second input of the gate to enable the gate. A first capacitor is connected to the output of the logic gate. A rectifier connected to the first capacitor rectifies the signal from the first capacitor. A low-pass filter connected to the rectifier removes the high frequency components from the signal. A solid state switch has a switching input connected to the low-pass filter output, which switches the device into a conducting state. This circuit is particularly suited for use where many solid state switches share the same common terminal.

    • Provided is an inverter control device that can detect momentary abnormality in a power-supply voltage for sure, and return quickly to regular state when the abnormality in the power-supply voltage has been settled. The inverter control device consists of a main power-supply (31); a sub power-supply (22) that converts electric power distributed from the main-power supply (31); a controller (21) that operates with a control power-supply supplied from the sub power-supply (22); a transistor (4) that makes the input signal of the controller (21) turn ON/OFF, by having the current between the emitter and collector made to turn ON/OFF; and a power-supply monitoring circuit (3) that is connected to the main power-supply (31) via at least a resistor (rD), and monitors the voltage of the main power-supply (31). The emitter terminal of the transistor (4) is connected to the ground, the base terminal of the transistor (4) is connected to the output terminal of the power-supply monitoring circuit (3) via a resistor (rB), and the current between the emitter and collector of the transistor (4) is made to be turned ON/OFF according to the output signal of the power-supply monitoring circuit (3).
