摘要： Various embodiments are described herein for methods, devices and systems for providing power supply to an electrical load within a facility, which is connected to a power network to perform load displacement. The power management system includes a controller coupled to an electrical panel for controlling the operation of the electrical load, the controller being configured to determine a target power amount to be provided to the electrical load based on peak power amount required by the electrical load. The system includes a power regulator for generating at least one control signal based on the target power amount, and the power generation system for receiving the at least one control signal, generating target electrical power corresponding to the target power amount and transmitting the target electrical power to the electrical panel via a DC voltage power bus.

摘要： A method of controlling a power system that includes an electrical machine, e.g., wind turbine generator, a power converter, a DC circuit and a dynamic braking system (DBS) having a braking circuit having a braking resistor and being connected in series to the DC circuit, is provided. The method includes operating the DBS and controlling operation of the electrical machine based on a prevailing temperature of the braking circuit, stopping the electrical machine and controlling the electrical machine to be restarted at its rated output power once the prevailing temperature of the braking resistor reaches or falls below a lower temperature threshold. The electrical machine may be restarted at a lower output power and after restarting, its output power can be increased based on a power starting profile as the braking resistor cools.

A controller included in the system is configured to identify power angle oscillations between the voltage and the current and control an exciter voltage of the exciter to damp the identified power angle oscillations.

摘要： A generator is described that includes a modified elongated Halbach array of magnets and a second array of magnets that interact to provide a flux field, which in turn interacts with a coil to generate an electrical current. The modified Halbach array includes two sets of magnets that are interspersed. In a first set of magnets the individual magnetic units are arranged in groupings of at least two magnets that are adjacent to one another and have the same magnetic orientation. In the second set of magnets utilizes either individual magnetic units or small groupings of individual magnetic units (relative to the first set of magnets) that are arranged in a different magnetic orientation than the first set, but identical to one another. A controller modifies electrical communication between different coils and/or controls inverters associated with the coils in order to control and stabilize electrical output from the generator.

摘要： A method for generating electrical power may include the steps of rotating a rotor of a generator at a speed in excess of about 12,000 revolutions per minute (rpm) to about 25,000 rpm and producing power with the generator at a rate in excess of about 800 kilowatts (kW). The generator has a power/weight ratio no smaller than about 3 kW/lbs. A rotor is cooled with cooling oil internally circulated through the rotor of the generator so that contact of cooling oil with external surfaces of the rotor may be precluded. The stator is also cooled with oil that is prevented from contacting the external surfaces of the rotor. Pressurized airflow may be produced in a gap between the rotor and a stator of the generator to preclude entry of cooling oil into the gap.
