摘要： In order to obtain a dose-rate measuring system that reduces an influence of an electromagnetic induction noise acting around an ionization chamber and a signal converter, a cabinet of the ionization chamber, shields of cables, a cabinet of the signal converter, and a cabinet of a measuring unit are connected in series, and a single-point ground is performed at the measuring unit, and other units except the grounded measuring unit are insulated from the earth, and moreover, a heatproof insulating material having water repellency is coated on a fixed portion of the ionization chamber, whereby the ionization chamber is electrically insulated from a chassis at a fixed side, and the heatproof insulating material having water repellency is coated on a connecting portion of a connector for connecting a cable to another cable, after a waterproof process is performed on the connecting portion by using a bonding tape.

摘要： A cable joint and a method of assembling a cable joint include at least two cables having inner conducting elements secured to each other at a point of connection. At least one of the cables is a paper-insulated lead cable including paper insulation impregnated with oil. A deformable elastomeric sleeve covers the point of connection. A flexible tape is wound about the elastomeric sleeve. The flexible tape restrains expansion of the elastomeric sleeve resulting from expansion of the oil in the paper insulation of the paper-insulated lead cable.

摘要： There is provided an olefin resin composition for power cables which contains an olefin resin and m-(tert-butylperoxyisopropyl)-isopropylbenzene and/or p-(tert-butylperoxyisopropyl)-isopropylbenzene. A crosslinking agent of this resin composition is suitably used for at least one of layers including semiconductor layers and an insulation layer in the power cables or around conductors at a joint between the power cables, whereby the high-temperature properties of the power cables can be improved.

摘要： There is provided a rubber/plastic insulated power cable or a joint of power cables which comprises a conductor or a conductor joint having an inner semiconductor layer and an insulation layer, and if necessary, an outer semiconductor layer, formed thereon in the order named, at least one of these layers being formed of a crosslinked structure of an olefin resin composition containing an olefin resin, an organic peroxide, and 2,4-diphenyl-4-methyl-1-pentene. The 2,4-diphenyl-4-methyl-1-pentene serves to inhibit "amber" of the olefin resin composition by the organic peroxide used and to increase the degree of crosslinking of crosslinked structure. Also, the olefin resin with a high melting point can be used as a base resin. Therefore, the resultant power cable and joint have highly improved AC breakdown strength, impulse breakdown strength at a high temperature and much less generation of electrical trees due to "amber", so that they are useful particularly high-voltage application.

摘要： A forced encapsulation system and method that can be advantageously used to encapsulate cable splices e.g., multiconductor communications cables. Containment means are formed around a substrate comprising part of at least one cable, and secured to the cable, thereby forming an enclosure into which liquid encapsulant can be introduced under pressure and in which the encapsulant can be maintained at pressure above ambient pressure. In a preferred embodiment, the containment means comprise a containment bag formed in situ from an elastomer sheet and sealed to the cable sheaths, with a reinforcing outer enclosure surrounding the containment bag. Introducing the liquid encapsulant under pressure leads to thorough penetration of the encapsulant into the splice work and cable ends and to intimate contact between the cured encapsulant and the surfaces within the enclosure, including surfaces with which the encapsulant does not form an adhesive bond, resulting in improved gasketing around conductors, thereby reducing the possibility of water-caused splice damage.
