摘要： An electrical switch mat which generally includes a first layer of flexible matting material, a second layer of flexible matting material, and a perimeter ribbon switch disposed between the first layer and the second layer. The ribbon switch has a longitudinal edge and is operable under pressure between a closed condition and an open condition and maintained in one of the open and closed conditions in the absence of pressure. The first and second layers have a peripheral edge which is aligned with the longitudinal edge of the ribbon switch in a coplanar relationship to form a peripheral edge of the electrical switch mat.

摘要： Safety mat for safeguarding an electrically driven installation, comprising a sensor, a rigid supporting body and an evaluation unit. The supporting body has a top side, a rear side and first and second side faces, adjoining the top and rear sides. The sensor has an active surface covering the top side of the supporting body. The rear side has an opening for contacting an evaluation unit arranged in the interior of the supporting body that is configured to provide an output signal depending on the actuation of the sensor. The first side face has a first cavity and the second side face has a second cavity. The rear side has a first and a second cable guide. The first cable guide connects the opening to the first cavity and the second cable guide connects the opening to the second cavity.

When an actuation force is applied to the actuation platform, the switch mat is actuated. A bridge connector for connecting adjacent pressure sensitive switch mats to eliminate non-activation zones therebetween is disclosed. Additionally, a control circuit for the switch mat system that has an integrity monitoring system for providing reliable control of the switch mat system is disclosed.
