    • The invention concerns an electric power transmission cable, particularly for an overhead power line, comprising at least one central composite ring (1) formed of fibers impregnated by a matrix, of which the specific breaking strength is greater than 0.4 MPa·m3/kg and at least one layer of conductive wires (3) nested within one another, made of aluminum or an aluminum alloy and windings around said ring (1), said cable having an outer diameter at ambient temperature called the initial diameter (Di) and the ratio between the thermal expansion coefficient of the conductive wires (3) and that of the central ring (1) is greater than three. According to the invention, said conductive wires (3) nested within one another are of a geometry such that the increase in the outer diameter of one length of said cable shorter than 45 m, during an increase of temperature lasting two to four minutes, from ambient temperature to a temperature between 150 and 240° C., is less than or equal to 10% of the initial diameter (Di), said cable being subject to a mechanical tension between 10% and 30% of the nominal breaking strength of the cable. The invention also concerns a conductive wire geometry enabling such a level of expansion of the diameter.

    • A multilayer composite conductor comprises an inner layer and an outer layer. The inner layer comprises at least one wire which has a conductivity of 60% to 70% IACS as a core of the multilayer composite conductor; wherein a volume of the inner layer is 40% to 55% of a total volume of the multilayer composite conductor; and the outer layer comprises multiple wires which have a conductivity of 70% to 98% IACS, and the outer layer is wound around the inner layer; wherein a volume of the outer layer is 45% to 60% of the total volume of the multilayer composite conductor. In another aspect, the present invention also provides a method for manufacturing a multilayer composite conductor. At the same current-carrying surface, the multilayer composite conductor of the present invention saves more than 60% of copper usage, thereby achieving light weight and low cost.

    • A core for an electrical conductor. The core includes an inner core component, an intermediate cladding component and an outer cladding component. The inner core component comprises a plurality of glass based stranded members in a first resin matrix. The intermediate cladding component surrounds the inner core component and comprises a plurality of carbon stranded members in a second resin matrix. The outer cladding component surrounds the intermediate cladding component and comprises a plurality of glass based stranded members in a third resin matrix.
