摘要： In one embodiment, a luggage article (100) is disclosed. The luggage article (100) includes a shell (102) with forming an internal storage volume (166). A recess (140) is formed in the shell (102) and includes a base wall (152) that defines a substantially planar surface (142), and a first peripheral wall (144) that at least partially surrounds the base wall (152) and forms a peripheral shape (146) in the shell (102). The luggage article (100) includes an identification tag assembly (112) including: a display body (122) defining a second peripheral shape (150) and configured to receive an information element (128) configured to display information (164), and a first attachment element (130); a second attachment element (132) coupled to the shell (102) proximate to the recess (140). The first attachment element (130) and the second attachment element (132) together releasably secure the display body (122) to the shell (102) in the recess (140).

摘要： An electronic baggage tag is self-reliant and self-regulating and provides the underlying foundation for a baggage tracking and management system, the center of which operates one or more tag service provider servers. The tag is attached to a baggage and is loaded with various data, including passenger itinerary, GPS data, and journey profile data. The tag has sensors, such for detecting different vibrations, electro-magnetic sensor, GPS, and others. As the baggage to which the tag is attached goes on its journey, the sensors detect stimuli and ascertain where in the journey the baggage is and use itinerary and other data to determine where the baggage should be. The tag service provider server communicates with the tag at various stages in the journey, providing up-to-date itinerary data to the tag. The tag automatically shuts off to be compliant with government regulations for devices in flight.

A tab is formed in the release liner and defined by at least the first edge, the second edge and the first line of weakness. The tab is structured so that removal of the tab from the substrate forms a first tear in the release liner that diagonally extends from the second end of the first line of weakness and forms a tail between the first tear and the score to enable removal of the tab.

The substrate has a detachable portion, the second scratch surface being disposed on the detachable portion of the substrate. The elongate portion for forming the loop and the first scratch surface are disposed on a main portion of the substrate which remains as the luggage tag after the detachable portion is detached.

摘要： The present invention relates to the field of luggage identification tags, and in particular, to a removable identification patch in which indicia can be incorporated onto the patch prior to installation of the patch onto the piece of luggage. A fastening plate is positioned on the interior surface of the luggage and is securely coupled to the identification patch, which is positioned on the exterior surface of the luggage. In one embodiment, the identification patch is attached directly to the fastening plate through fasteners that extend through the luggage wall. In another embodiment, the fastening plate includes projecting tabs which extend through the luggage wall to matingly engage a housing member positioned on the exterior surface of the luggage. The housing member includes a cavity for receiving the identification patch. The identification patch can be removed from the luggage and replaced with an alternative or second identification patch.

摘要： A baggage security system is disclosed for providing fingerprint identification of all persons checking luggage or cargo to be shipped on airline flights, to enable swift identification of all persons checking or carrying on board luggage or cargo. The security kit preferably includes a first document, such as a passenger ticket, a second document, such as a baggage tag label and a fingerprint coating material. The first document or passenger ticket has a first substrate with a personal information area on a surface thereof bearing the name of the person depositing baggage or cargo for transport. The ticket additionally has a fingerprint identification area on a surface thereof for receiving a fingerprint of the passenger wishing to check luggage. The second document or baggage tag label has a second substrate with at least one fingerprint receiving area bearing an inkless fingerprint developing coating for developing a visible colored image of a fingerprint of a finger of the person upon contact of the coating by his or her finger. The fingerprint developing coating is then removed from the second substrate and deposited onto the first substrate in the fingerprint identification area.
