摘要： A method is performed at an electronic payment module with one or more processors, memory, a slave interface that couples the module with an unattended machine via a multi-drop bus (MDB), and one or more host interfaces that couple the module with at least one payment peripheral of the unattended machine. The method also includes: receiving, from a refund center, a request to issue an approved refund of a predetermined amount and one or more criteria that must be satisfied before dispensing the predetermined amount. In accordance with a determination that the one or more criteria are met, the method includes issuing (i) a signal to the unattended machine, via the slave interface, that the at least one payment peripheral is unavailable and (ii) a signal to the at least one payment peripheral, via the one or more host interfaces, to dispense the predetermined amount.

摘要： A Guest Check Presenter Device and Method of Use. In one embodiment, advantageous for establishment use, the invention comprises a guest check presenter in the form of a booklet having a bill slot for holding a bill which can be made of transparent magnifying plastic that enlarges the appearance of the bill, which can be coupled with a light, enhancing visibility of the bill. The system also provides for a calculation device that limits its functionality and options: permitting the patrons to split the total of the bill, and calculate the percentage of gratuity desired selecting from choices provided on the face of the device. In a second embodiment advantageous for personal use, the case has a front and back side, with a computation device, a magnifier, and a light all being disposed on the case. By offering only limited functions, the device is made more user-friendly and time-efficient. The invention aids the elderly and eyesight-impaired individuals.

The exterior surface configuration (22) prevents the placement of a skimming reader over the top of the card reader housing (20). In a disclosed example, a finger-receiving notch (50) is directly aligned with a reader (60) and has a depth and a dimension sized for receiving at least a portion of a finger holding a card inserted into a slot (46) in the housing (20). Any alteration of the notch (50) dimensions prevents proper operation of the card reader.
