    • A file management system for managing a number of files stored in an image capturing device includes a classifying unit, a calculating unit, a selecting unit, and a processing unit. The classifying unit is configured for classifying the files in a storage unit of the image capturing device into different clusters according to the file suffixes. The measuring unit is configured for measuring how much memory is currently occupied by the files in the storage unit, size of each cluster and percentage of total available memory occupied by each of the clusters to display the percentages on a display panel. The selecting unit is configured for selecting a desired cluster in response to user input at the input unit. The processing unit is configured for accessing the measurements of the selected cluster(s) and generating a view revealing the measurements on a display panel.

    • A method and systems are described for providing remote storage via a removable memory device. The method includes intercepting a file write operation associated with storing a first file to the device and a file read operation associated with retrieving a second file from the device. In response to intercepting the write operation, contacting a server based on information included on the device to identify a storage location, storing a representation of the file on the device including an identifier for identifying the storage location, and providing for sending data provided by the write operation to the server for storage at the identified storage location. The method includes, in response to intercepting the file read operation, extracting an identifier for identifying a storage location on a server from a representation of the file stored on the device and providing for retrieving data from the identified storage location on the server.

    • A method and system of managing data in a storage device is provided. The method includes receiving a request to store content in a storage device. If the content is discardable content, the content is divided into a plurality of discardable data objects, each associated with at least one type of discarding priority data. The discardable data objects in the storage device are managed based on the discarding priority data associated with each discardable data object. Management of discardable objects may include selection and deletion of discardable objects based on discarding priority data, as well as further subdivision of existing discardable objects, to maintain a desired amount of free space on the storage device. The system may include a host having a processor and a storage device interface configured to execute the method, or a storage device having a processor configured to execute the disclosed methods.

    • Computer-implemented systems and methods for optimizing content delivery is disclosed herein. Client attribute data is received for a selected client computing device, including a selected client encoding format. A server hint is received, the server hint indicating that the selected client computing device is likely to access a first media file. A first edge server computer of the content delivery network receives the first media file in a first encoding format. At least one cost value associated with propagating the first media file in the content delivery network is calculated based on the client attribute data. The content delivery network determines whether to make the first media file available in the selected encoding format on a selected edge server computer of the content delivery network based on the at least one cost value.
