摘要： One variation of a method for monitoring cooling units in a store includes: at a robotic system, during a first scan routine, autonomously navigating toward a cooling unit in the store, recording a color image of the cooling unit, and scanning a set of temperatures within the cooling unit; identifying a set of products stocked in the cooling unit based on features detected in the color image; mapping the set of temperatures to the set of products at a first time during the first scan routine based on positions of products in the set of products identified in the color image; and generating a record of temperatures of the set of products stocked in the cooling unit at the first time.

摘要： A system and method of minimizing the time between opening a hot water valve and hot water reaching a point of use by temporarily diverting the water to another point of use. The system and method embody a thermally sensitive valve arranged so as to permit the flow of cool water from a hot water supply line to be diverted to a point of use that is insensitive to the temperature of the water provided. Embodiments of the invention may also comprise timers that function to limit the amount of time that water may flow to a point of use that is insensitive to the temperature of the water provided. Such embodiments may operate without user intervention or may require that a user or other device provide a signal that causes the invention to divert water to a point of use that is insensitive to the temperature of water provided.

摘要： A method of manufacturing a thermo valve includes an overlaying step of overlaying a valve body onto a thermo actuator so as to cover a groove portion; and a caulking step of caulking an installing portion of the valve body onto the thermo actuator. The caulking step is performed by pressing, by use of a jig, the valve body and the thermo actuator toward an axis center in a radial direction. A pressing face of the jig has a short side portion and a long side portion longer than the short side portion. Pressing is performed with the long side portion being substantially in parallel to the axis center of the thermo actuator and the short side portion being substantially in parallel to the groove portion.

摘要： A boiling sensor includes a case, which is mounted on the upper edge of a container in which liquid is to boil. A pair of electrical probes are spaced apart a small distance and mounted on the case above the liquid. Behind the probes is a collector of the material, preferably sheet nylon, which does not absorb the liquid, which is non-wettable and electrical insulative, and which has a high heat capacity. With a high heat capacity, the vapor raises the temperature of the collector slowly so that vapor continues to condense on the collector between the probes. The probes are part of an electrical circuit. The condensed water vapor allows current to flow the between the probes, and the rest of the circuit causes current to flow through a sound or visual indicator to indicate that the water is boiling. This circuit also has a voltage divider, one side of which is the electrical probe, and by adjusting the resistance on the other side of the voltage divider, the sensitivity of the circuit can be controlled. In another embodiment the probes are a metal plate and a screw which extends into the case but which is electrically insulated by a nylon bushing. The bushing acts as the vapor collector.

摘要： A weight measuring arrangement for a cooking appliance in which a surface heating unit also functions as a scale platform. A three arm cantilever beam supports the heating unit. A set of four strain gages measures the strain of the three support arms, with one gage each being attached to each of two identical support arms and the remaining two gages being attached to the third arm, which arms are constructed such that the strain measured by each of the gages secured to the third arm is one-half that measured by each of the gages secured to the two identical arms when the ends of all three arms are equally deflected by a utensil placed on the surface unit for heating. The gages are electrically connected in a Wheatstone bridge network such that the output voltage from the bridge network is proportional to the weight of the load carried on the surface unit. This arrangement can be used to monitor the weight of the items being heated, throughout the heating period.
