摘要： A sheet refeeding apparatus which comprises a belt laid between a first and a second shafts, wherein as the belt is wound around the first shaft, copy sheets ejected from a copying machine are wound around the first shaft together with the belt, and as the belt is wound around the second shaft, the sheets wound around the first shaft are fed out thereof back to the copying machine. In collecting sheets, the first shaft is rotated in the same direction as that of the rotation of a photosensitive drum, and a sheet turn-over section is disposed upstream of the belt with respect to sheet conveying direction. Marks are provided for the belt to recognize the position of the belt. An initial position mark is given to the belt, and the mark functions as a standard for a return of the belt to the initial position on a supply of power for the apparatus or on the completion of a sheet refeeding operation. Further, when a sheet is detected being fed out of the belt during the return of the belt to the initial position, it is judged that a paper jam has occurred, and the returning operation is discontinued. The sheet refeeding apparatus comprises an ejection path through which sheets are ejected directly outside of the apparatus, an ejection path cover which is capable of opening and closed, and a switch for requesting coercive ejection of sheets. The switch is operative from the outside only when the cover is in an open state, and when the switch is operated, sheets are ejected onto the cover. Furthermore, the drive of the belt is controlled, when collecting sheets, to reduce the intervals among the sheets, when feeding the sheets out of the collecting section back to the copying machine, to gain the intervals among the sheets and when ejecting the sheets outside of the apparatus, to keep the intervals among the sheets as they were collected. The coercive ejection is allowed only when a sheet which is unnecessary for the sheet refeeding is included.

摘要： An electronic copying machine according to the present invention has a copying unit for forming images on paper sheets and then discharging them, and a resupply unit for resupplying the same paper sheets to the copying unit, for other images to be formed on the sheets. The resupply unit has a pull-out unit which can readily removed therefrom, and the copying unit has a jam sensor for detecting that a paper sheet is jammed between the copying unit and the pull-out unit. When the jam sensor detects the jamming of a paper sheet when the copying machine is in overlap copying mode, the jammed paper sheet is forcedly discharged from the resupply unit. Alternatively, when the jam sensor detects the jamming of a paper sheet when the copying machine is in double-sided copying mode, the jammed paper sheet is forcedly pulled into the resupply unit.

摘要： Sheet stacking apparatus for a buffer tray of a reprographic machine comprises a belt feeder including, at the input end of the feeder, a baffle which imparts a curved configuration to sheets in a direction transverse to the direction of travel. The output end of the feeder is defined by an output roll which cooperates with the belt of the feeder and is movable with the adjustable end guide of the buffer tray so that, as the length of the tray is increased, the length of the sheet path through the feeder is decreased and vice versa. The curved sheet configuration is maintained as sheets are conveyed through the feeder by the belt and is then further maintained by a second baffle as sheets are fed out, by the output roll, over the buffer tray.

摘要： A multibin, cut-sheet xerographic copier capable of operating in a simplex or a duplex copy mode, wherein sheets are fed from a selected sheet stack, one at a time, to the copier's transfer station, by a sheet feeding means which includes a combing wheel.The combing wheel shingles the leading edge of the stack's top sheet to an open feed roller nip, to be sensed thereat by a pneumatic sensor. Sensing of this leading edge causes the combing wheel to be lifted off the stack. Subsequently, at a time determined by the copier's control logic, the drive nip closes to thereby feed the top sheet to the copier's paper registration gate, and then to its transfer station. As soon as this sheet's trailing edge has cleared the pneumatic sensor, and the drive nip has opened, the next sheet is staged at the shingled position, in the open drive nip.Means are provided to deshingle the stack when the copier's paper supply drawer is opened, as for reloading paper.The combing wheel, drive nip and associated assemblies are supported by a single frame member, and are thus removable as a unit for replacement or repair.
