    • A biocompatible, mechanical, micromachined pressure sensor and methods of manufacturing such a pressure sensor are provided. The pressure sensor of the current invention includes a high-aspect-ratio curved-tube structure fabricated through a one-layer parylene process. The pressure sensor of the current invention requires zero power consumption and indicates the pressure variation by changes of the in situ in-plane motion of the sensor, which can be gauged externally by a direct and convenient optical observation. In one embodiment, the pressure sensor of the current invention has been shown to work as an IOP sensor for eye implantation where the intraocular in-plane motion of the sensor can be recorded from outside of the eye, such that the intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients can be constantly monitored.

    • An apparatus, a system and a method obtain, transmit and/or provide transportation information. A microprocessor is configured to receive and/or transmit real time information concerning the operation of a vehicle. Real time information, such as, for example, a weight of a vehicle, an air pressure of tires, a location of the truck and the trailer, brake wear of brakes of the truck and/or the trailer, and/or engine measurements may be obtained. The real time information may be encrypted and may be transmitted to a central location using Wi-Fi communication, a cellular telephone network, radio transmission, a transponder, and/or the like. The real time information may be accessed by a terminal communicatively linked to the microprocessor and/or the central location. The signal may indicate vehicle compliance and/or non-compliance with a private commercial requirement and/or state and federal regulations.

    • A pressure measuring device is provided with an indicator such as a bourdon tube (10) for indicating the absolute value of the difference in pressure between fluids applied to the indicator through first and second conduits (15) and (20). Valve means (25) including an element (100) actuable in response to the pressure in conduits (15) and (20) consistently applies the higher pressure fluid to that portion of the indicator adapted to receive such higher pressure fluid and the lower pressure fluid to that portion of the indicator adapted to receive the lower pressure fluid. Optical means such as transmitter (115) and receiver (120) are provided for indication of the sign (positive or negative) of the pressure difference.
