    • The bimetal thermometer according to the invention comprises a bimetal helix arranged inside a protective tube, one end thereof being attached to the protective tube and the other end thereof being connected to a pointer shaft to which a pointer arranged inside a casing is attached. The pointer shaft is rotatably journaled in a bearing assembly in which a cavity is formed through which the pointer shaft extends. The cavity is filled with semisolid lubricating grease for damping vibration movements of the pointer shaft. The pointer shaft has either a smooth surface or is provided with at least one radial projection arranged inside the cavity. Vibration movements of the pointer shaft are damped by the interaction of the pointer shaft and, if provided, the projections with the viscous lubricating grease. This design of the bearing assembly and the pointer shaft permits to provide a damped bimetal thermometer without a liquid filling being required in the casing and the protective tube or at least in the protective tube for the purpose of damping.

    • The present invention relates to a pressure-thermometer in same time (thermometer combined with manometer) capable of achieving one combined meter in which a Bourdon tube manometer and a bimetal type thermometer are combined. A pressure scale and a temperature scale are separately formed on a character plate in a rectangular or circular casing. There is provided a separation type manometer-combined thermometer in which the centers of a pressure indication hand and a temperature indication hand are separated. There is provided an integration type manometer combined thermometer in which a pressure indication hand and a temperature indication hand are utilized together based on the same center. The above two constructions are achieved based on a dual shank and a dual movement.

    • There is disclosed an actuator having a shaft which, responsive to temperature changes, is rotated by bi-metallic coiled members. The members are tightly coiled so that each produces a high spring torque. One member is coiled with the lower-thermalcoefficient-of-expansion layer radially inward and the higher coefficient-of-expansion layer radially outwardly; the other member is coiled with the higher thermal coefficient-of-expansion layer radially inward and the lower coefficient-of-expansion layer radially outward. The inner ends of the members are connected to the shaft and the outer ends to a fixed support; the members being positioned about the shaft with their coils wound oppositely so that the spring torques of the members counteract at any temperature but the torques produced by change in temperature act cumulatively.
