摘要： Various embodiments disclosed herein describe an infrared (IR) imaging system for detecting a gas. The imaging system can include an optical filter that selectively passes light having a wavelength in a range of 1585 nm to 1595 nm while attenuating light at wavelengths above 1600 nm and below 1580 nm. The system can include an optical detector array sensitive to light having a wavelength of 1590 that is positioned rear of the optical filter.

摘要： An Infra-Red (IR) thermometer with a built-in self-test, the IR thermometer comprising: an IR sensor configured to determine a temperature of an object based on thermal radiation emittance from the object; a thermal radiation generation source capable of emitting known thermal radiation upon receiving an instruction; a cap, comprising a reflective surface for reflecting thermal radiation generated by the thermal radiation generation source into the IR sensor upon the cap being in a closed position wherein the cap is covering a part of the IR thermometer including the IR sensor and the thermal radiation generation source, so that the IR sensor does not receive radiation from sources other than the thermal radiation generation source; and a processing circuitry configured to perform the built-in self-test by: instructing the thermal radiation generation source to emit the known thermal radiation, when the cap is in the closed position; obtaining at least one temperature measurement from the IR sensor after a time period required for the thermal radiation generation source to emit the known thermal radiation; and upon the temperature measurement deviating above a threshold from the expected temperature, generating a failure indication of failure of the built-in self-test or upon the temperature measurement deviating below the threshold from the expected temperature, generate a success indication of success of the built-in self-test.

摘要： An omnidirectional measurement system for a time-varying characteristic of atmospheric vapor radiation includes an antenna and calibrator assembly, a receiver assembly, a room temperature IF assembly, and a data acquisition and system control assembly. Atmospheric vapor features a wide profile and strong radiation in a frequency band of 183 GHz, and is often seen in the characteristic measurement of atmospheric vapor in high-altitude areas. The omnidirectional measurement system combines a superconductor-insulator-superconductor (SIS) mixer with high detection sensitivity in the frequency band of 183 GHz with a structure that integrates pitch scanning, omnidirectional scanning, and automatic calibration to achieve fast and high-precision omnidirectional scanning measurement of the time-varying characteristic of atmospheric vapor radiation. The omnidirectional measurement system has a pitch adjustment-based fast omnidirectional scanning function, and can measure the time-varying characteristic of atmospheric vapor radiation with higher precision and higher temporal resolution through the SIS mixer with higher sensitivity.

摘要： An extended area “cavity type” blackbody for use as a radiometric reference for imaging systems may have a well in the form of a cube having four sidewalls and a back wall, and open at the front. The temperature of the back wall may be controlled independently of the temperature(s) of the sidewalls. This system may produce infrared radiance closer to an ideal radiator than typical extended area sources. A “simple” blackbody is disclosed, having a source plate with a front emitting surface; a ledge element disposed in front of and below the source plate for heating air in front of the source plate; and (optionally) another ledge element disposed in front of and above the source plate for cooling air in front of the source plate. A housing may support the source plate and ledge element, and a vent may be provided in front of and above the source plate. A resistive heater may be associated with the ledge element; and (optionally) TECs may be associated with the other (cooling) ledge element. Angles of the ledges may be adjustable to optimize the best uniformity for a particular implementation. Temperature control of the ledges may be in unison with or independent from the source plate.

摘要： Various embodiments disclosed herein describe a divided-aperture infrared spectral imaging (DAISI) system that is adapted to acquire multiple IR images of a scene with a single-shot (also referred to as a snapshot). The plurality of acquired images having different wavelength compositions that are obtained generally simultaneously. The system includes at least two optical channels that are spatially and spectrally different from one another. Each of the at least two optical channels are configured to transfer IR radiation incident on the optical system towards an optical FPA unit comprising at least two detector arrays disposed in the focal plane of two corresponding focusing lenses. The system further comprises at least one temperature reference source or surface that is used to dynamically calibrate the two detector arrays and compensate for a temperature difference between the two detector arrays.
