    • A gas meter device of the present invention includes an inlet into which a fluid flows, and an outlet from which the fluid flows out, and is configured to derive a flow value of the fluid flowing from the inlet to the outlet. The gas meter device comprises plural measurement fluid passages provided in parallel between the inlet and the outlet; flow value measuring units provided in the plural measurement fluid passages, respectively, and configured to independently measure flow values of fluids flowing through the measurement fluid passages, respectively; an average flow value calculation unit configured to derive an average flow value of the flow values measured by the flow value measuring units, respectively; and a flow value comparison unit configured to obtain index values indicating a relation between the average flow value derived by the average flow value calculation unit and the flow values measured by the flow value measuring units, and determine whether or not each of the index values is equal to or larger than a predetermined value. Thereby, the present invention can determine whether or not there is an erroneous measurement flow value from only the separate flow values independently measured in the measurement fluid passages, respectively.

    • A low-cost fluid flow meter to conveniently measure the volume of a fluid, for example water, when expelled from a faucet includes a scale with markings for predetermined volumes of a fluid. A flow divider positioned in the main path of flow is used to redirect a small portion of the fluid flow into a separate measurement compartment. The fluid level is then registered optically as a representation of the accumulated fluid flow and presented through light-guiding optics to the user. The measurement compartment is automatically emptied through a pressure activated reset mechanism, so that when fluid flow is turned off the meter is nulled. The device is installed to the outlet of a faucet and operates as a substitute to many of the common measurement sets and containers used in a household for water dosage, as well as serves as an indicator of the water consumed each time the faucet is opened.

    • A meter for flowing material, e.g., water, has a meter register having an electronic display, e.g., an LED or LCD display, and a mechanical read-out display driven by a stepper motor to record units of water that flowed through the meter. In the event of an electrical power failure, the LED or LCD readout values are lost, however, the mechanical read-out values remain. Further, signals are transmitted to a microprocessor of a meter register to change the rotation of the stepper motor so that the meter register can be used with different types of meters. Still further, a meter generator co-acting with a meter register forwards an electrical pulse signal after a quantity of material or utility passes through a water meter to a microprocessor of a remote reader. The remote reader includes an odometer coupled to a stepper motor.

    • Apparatus for indicating fuel per pulse in a pulsed fuel injection system for an internal combustion engine, especially a diesel engine, includes a magnetic piston axially movable in a cylindrical bore in a fuel line to and from a stopped position blocking an inlet. The piston has an outer diameter just smaller than the inner diameter of the bore and is included in a magnetic circuit including an actuating coil having an inductance varying with piston position. Circuitry provides strong electrical current pulse to the coil prior to injection to move the piston to its stopped position and then provides a substantially weaker AC current to the coil while monitoring the voltage and rate of change of voltage thereacross. The rate of change of voltage indicates when piston movement in response to a fuel injection pulse ceases; and the voltage at that point indicates piston position and therefore fuel quantity injected. The beginning of piston movement, as sensed from said voltage, may also be used to mark time of injection.
