    • A fire starter consists of a ring-shaped mass of combustible of wax and wood. It consists of a series of inverted frusto-conical sections connected together by a series of inverted triangular connecting sections and a having a substantially central aperture, and having spacers for supporting the mass of material above a supporting surface, e.g. the floor of a fireplace. During the process for manufacturing the fire starter, the wax and wood mixture is subject to high pressure of 700 psi to 800 psi resulting in the formation of veneer layer of wax on the outer surfaces of the fire starter. During combustion of the fire starter, a venturi effect is created by a flow of air to the aperture, providing a relatively high, intense flame. The fire starter burns for a period of time, e.g, 8-12 minutes, and the intensity of the flame generated is capable of igniting conventional fireplace logs without the use of kindling. Multiple fire starters are packaged by placing the fire starters in vertical stacked relationship within the internal cavity of a tubular package. A rolled sheet of instructions is inserted through the aligned apertures in the stacked fire starters.

    • A charcoal briquette igniter for use with outdoor grills includes a pressurized fuel gas container and a burner which has a cage that surrounds the orifices to which the fuel gas issues from the burner. An airtight conduit innerconnects the burner and container so that the admixture of air and fuel transpires after the fuel gas has been discharged from the orifices, the cage under such circumstances being adapted to support the briquettes spacedly apart from the orifices and to define a compartment in which the air and combustible fuel gases mix and burn. The fuel container of the igniter is supported by a hanger that is in turn suspended from the wall of the grill brazier, the hanger being adapted to underlie a valve component that is secured to the container and to support the container at the side of the grill through its connection with the valve component.

    • A blow-through fireplace implement for arranging and stimulating the burning of combustible materials includes an elongate structure having a handle formation near one end and a material-engaging formation near the other end. An inlet is defined by the handle structure. An outlet is defined by the material-engaging formation. A passage is formed through the structure for comunicating the inlet and the outlet. A valve is provided within the handle for selectively permitting gases to be blown into the inlet and discharged from the outlet to stimulate burning of combustible material, and for preventing gases entering the outlet from being drawn out through the inlet. The material-engaging formation includes a foot configured to rest flatly on the floor of a fireplace when the outlet is oriented in a preferred direction for stimulating the burning of combustible materials. When the structure is grasped by the handle formation, it can be manipulated to arrange combustible material in a fireplace by bringing the material-engaging formation into contact with the combustible material.
