摘要： A continuously variable transmission includes a primary pulley, a secondary pulley, a metal belt and a controller. The metal ring includes a ring and a plurality of elements bundled by the ring. The elements have respective receiving portions opening in a radial direction of the metal belt and receive the ring in the receiving portions. Assuming a direction perpendicular to a circumferential direction and a radial direction of the metal belt as a lateral direction L, the controller executes a falling-off countermeasure control of the element when a relative movement of the element in the lateral direction L with respect to the ring is detected or a presence of an action of a force on the element which causes such relative movement is detected.

摘要： A continuously variable transmission (CVT) (14) includes a drive pulley (18), a driven pulley (20), and an endless rotatable device (22) coupled between the drive and driven pulleys (18, 20). The drive pulley (18) and the driven pulley (20) each include pulley teeth (19T, 21T), and the endless rotatable device (22) includes device teeth (22T). A controller (50) can control the operation of the CVT and can execute the following instructions: (a) receiving a torque request while the device teeth (22T) are mating with the pulley teeth (19T, 21T); (b) determining whether the torque request direction is opposite to the input torque direction; (c) determining whether a current clamping force applied by an actuator (28, 30) to the drive pulley (18) is sufficient to change the direction of the torque transmitted by the drive pulley (18); and (d) commanding the actuator (28; 30) to increase the current clamping force when the current clamping force is not sufficient to change the direction of the torque transmitted by the drive pulley (18).

摘要： A hydraulic control system for a vehicle having a continuously variable transmission in which a torque transmitting capacity thereof is changed hydraulically, and an engagement device which is connected to the continuously variable transmission in series and in which a torque transmitting capacity thereof is changed hydraulically. The hydraulic control system comprises a selecting means that selects a command pattern for setting an engagement pressure of the engagement device out of a plurality of patterns when an initial pressure is lower than a steady pressure for a normal running of the vehicle. The selecting means is configured to select the command pattern in such a manner that the torque transmitting capacity of the engagement device does not exceeds the torque transmitting capacity of the continuously variable transmission, based on at least any of conditions of the initial pressure that is lowered to be lower than the steady pressure, and a rotational speed of the continuously variable transmission.

摘要： A vehicle includes an engine, drive wheels, a continuously variable transmission (CVT), and a controller. The CVT includes an input member connected to the engine, an output member delivering output torque to the wheels, and a variator assembly connecting the input and output members. The controller determines, via a method, an input and output speed of the variator assembly, converts the output speed to an equivalent input speed using a calibrated variator speed ratio, and calculates a gross slip of the variator assembly using the input and equivalent input speeds. A gross slip flag is set only when the gross slip exceeds a calibrated slip value for a predetermined duration. A CVT assembly includes the controller, input and output members, and variator assembly. The variator assembly may include drive and driven pulleys, a drive mechanism connecting the pulleys, and an actuator applying a clamping force to one of the pulleys.
