摘要： Method for manufacturing an asbestos-free friction material having as component materials inorganic and/or organic and/or metallic fibers, at least one organic binder, at least one friction modifier or lubricant and at least a filler or abrasive. The raw components of the friction material are mixed together to obtain a raw mixture which is then molded to obtain a block or layer of friction material. The mixing step includes a first step of hot blending of at least part of the organic binder with at least part of the other components of the friction material by a rolling mill blender that is open to atmospheric pressure at a temperature lower than the polymerization temperature of the organic binder but greater than or equal to its softening temperature, in order to obtain a semifinished solid product. A second step of grinding the semifinished solid product reduces the product to a powder.

摘要： The present invention is a laminate sheet having two laminae. The first lamina is a relatively hard material having first and second surfaces. The first surface has a plurality of raised and generally pointed piercing structures, each structure having a tip. The second lamina is graphite foil material, which is mated to the relatively hard material, such that at least some of the piercing structures pierce the graphite foil material. In one embodiment, the first lamina has no perforations and is uniformly smooth. In another embodiment, the second surface also has a plurality of piercing structures and a third lamina comprising graphite foil is mated to the second surface.

In one joint area an internal brake ring tooth profile engages in a brake disk chamber tooth profile. The brake disk chamber tooth profile has brake disk chamber tooth faces in circular arc form, whereas the brake ring-tooth profile has brake ring tooth faces in the form of an involute. Due to the special version of the pairing of two different tooth formats a fixed, load-bearing connection can be achieved between the brake disk chamber and the brake ring.

摘要： A brake disk for bicycles has an inner disk, two outer disks and multiple brake units. The brake units, rather than the outer disks, are used to rub with the disk brake pads. As each brake unit is a small lump, the brake units can be easily made of material with high abrasion resistance, high temperature resistance, and low heat conduction, and the brake units still can sustain sufficient strength. With those features of material, the brake disk for bicycles does not deform easily by the heat, and the glue between the outer disks and the inner disk does not melt easily by the heat from the outer disks. Because each brake unit, which is used to rub, is independent from the outer disks, the outer disks can be made of light material, and the whole weight reduces as well.

摘要： A composite friction assembly is disclosed which comprises at least one friction member and a support member. Each of the friction member and the support member have a composition comprising a thermosettable resin and a filler material. The friction member and the support member each have a planar surface, with the respective planar surfaces being joined at their interface, so as to define a boundary layer. The composition of each member is substantially confined to separate sides of the boundary layer whereby the composition of the friction member does not substantially penetrate beyond the boundary layer into the composition for the support member and the composition for the support member does not substantially penetrate beyond the boundary layer into the composition for the friction member. Among the disclosed embodiments of the present invention is a brake pad, such as that used in vehicular brakes. The present invention further relates to a method of making such a composite friction assembly.
