    • A connecting device (1) for the rotationally fixed connection of first and second shafts (2, 3) that can rotate relative to one another. The connecting device (1) comprises an axially movable connecting element (5) designed such that, in a first axial position (A), the connecting element (5) forms an interlock between the first and second shafts (2, 3) and, in a second axial position (B), the connecting element (5) releases the interlock. The connecting device (1) also comprises an actuating system (6, 8, 9, 10, 11) for moving the connecting element between the first and second axial positions (A, B) and a stop (16) which limits the axial movement of the connecting element (5) in the first or second axial position (A, B). An impact damper (17) is provided for the stop (16) in order to reduce annoying noise when the connecting element (5) strikes against the stop (16).

    • A disengagement/disconnect assembly for disengaging a generator from a gear box may include an inner ball screw having an angled threading on an outer surface thereof and surrounding and operatively engaged to a rotating generator drive shaft to cause rotation of the inner ball screw. The inner ball screw may be attached to an engagement member having undercut and interlockable teeth engaged to corresponding teeth of an engagement member of the gear box. An outer ball screw may surround and normally rotate with the inner ball screw. A helical ball track may be formed between the inner and outer ball screws. A brake may be provided for slowing or stopping rotation of the outer ball screw so that the inner ball screw rotates relative to the outer ball screw along the ball track and slides axially away from the gear box thereby disengaging the generator from the gear box drive shaft.

    • A drive joint mechanism includes a drive shaft (30) and a driven shaft (24) coupled coaxially to the drive shaft (30). A coupling (31) on the drive shaft (30) or the driven shaft (24) has pin-engaging grooves (31a, 31b) and at least one pyramid-shaped pin-guide (32) between adjacent pin-engaging grooves (31a, 31b). An engagement pin (25) is provided on the other of the drive shaft (30) and the driven shaft (24) and engages the pin-engaging groove (31a, 31b). The engagement pin (25) contacts the pin-guide (32) while coupling the drive shaft (30) and the driven shaft (24). Thus, at least one of the drive shaft (30) and the driven shaft (24) is rotated by a pressing force exerted in the axial direction by the driven shaft (24) so that the pin-guide (32) guides the engagement pin (25) into the pin-engaging groove (31a, 31b).

    • A reverse drive for a small vehicle includes a primary driven gear through which an external motor imparts a rotary motion to a first shaft. A worm gear is mounted on and rotates with the first shaft. A worm wheel is mounted on and rotates with a second shaft. The worm wheel engages and is rotated by the worm gear with a gear reduction being effected through engagement of the worm gear and the worm wheel so that the second shaft rotates at a slower speed than the first shaft. A clutch is mounted on the second end of the second shaft, which can be moved between an engaged position and a disengaged position.
