    • Apparatus for converting wave motion on a body of water into electrical power includes an electrical power generating system. The system includes a floatable housing. An electrical power generating unit is disposed within the floatable housing. The electrical power generating unit includes two spaced apart wheels which are connected by a drive element, and at least one generator for generating electrical power. A weight is connected to the drive element. When the system is tilted by wave motion, the weight moves toward the lower wheel, thereby turning the wheels and generator(s) and creating electrical power. In an embodiment, two weights are combined to provide drive element movement in a single direction. In another embodiment, the weight travels along a track which has two upturned ends.

    • The invention refers to a modular hydrokinetic assembly which allows the conversion of the kinetic energy of flowing waters into useful mechanical energy for driving some electric generators or water pumping sets, without building dams or culverts. The modular hydrokinetic assembly according to the invention comprises two lower and upper underframes (1 and 2) and a blade assembly (3) formed of two endless chains comprising the plates (20) whereon blades (21) are fastened and actuated by the water of a river, caught from a river by means of a threshold and catching connector and, transmit the mechanical energy by means of a star wheel (23), secured on the axles of electrical generators (4) or water pumping sets (5), the amount of the resulting mechanical energy being dependent mainly on the water flow rate and slope of the channel formed by the lower underframe (1) and, by the radius described by the blades (21) to the axles of the star wheels (23).

    • An apparatus and method are provided that comprise the use of a water-filled vessel having two vertical sections and two horizontal sections that connect the respective upper and lower ends of the vertical sections. A sprocket is mounted for rotation with a horizontal output shaft in one of the horizontal sections, and an idler pulley is mounted for rotation in the other horizontal section. An endless drive chain carrying a plurality of gas receptacles, or buckets encircles the sprocket and the idler pulley within the vessel. A gas inlet is positioned at the bottom of the vessel such that a portion of the gas entering the vessel enters the open ends of the downwardly facing buckets and forces part of the water out of the buckets. The hydrostatic pressure of the water exerts an upward buoyant force on the gas in the bucket moving the bucket upwardly. The hydrostatic pressure of the water decreases as the bucket moves upward causing a corresponding reduction in the pressure of the gas until, at the surface, the gas will have decreased in pressure by the hydrostatic pressure of the water at the inlet of the gas into the vessel. The upward movement of the buckets rotates the sprocket and the output shaft whereby power is produced for use outside of the vessel and the pressure of the gas is reduced.
