摘要： A plunger pump including an airtight bellows surrounding a portion of a drive shaft to protect the drive shaft and associated seals and/or bearings from harmful fluids that are being pumped. No counter-pressure fluid exists inside the bellows, other than air, and the bellows is sufficiently rigid to withstand the pressure of the pumped fluid without collapsing. The interior of the bellows is in fluid communication with the atmosphere, negating the need for a reservoir to accommodate varying quantities of counter-pressure fluid as the pump operates.

摘要： Pumping cartridges useful for medical and surgical pumping and infusion procedures. In one aspect, a series of pumping cartridges include cylinders and pistons which have a sealing component including a circumferential, flared sealing flange and can be configured to enable the pumping cartridge to generate high liquid pumping pressures. Many of the pumping cartridges can be configured to be detachable from a pump drive unit and disposable after a single use. Some pistons include or at least partially form a valve and/or are relatively movable with respect to a connected piston rod. Valves include a valve seat and a movable sealing element able to create a seal capable of withstanding differences in fluid pressures thereacross of at least about 1,000 psi. The movable sealing element is concave in shape, and may be curved for improved sealing performance. Methods for pumping or infusing a liquid for delivery to the body of a patient or a surgical or medical instrument.

摘要： Apparatus and methods of their use are described for engaging a pumping cartridge with a pump drive. In certain embodiments, the cartridge, comprising a cylinder and a movable piston assembly, is initially assembled or subsequently positioned so that the distance between the attachment point on the piston assembly for coupling to a drive assembly, and a reference point on the cylinder, is greater than the maximal distance that will be encountered during normal oscillation of the piston during use. The cartridge, in certain embodiments may be pressed into a drive assembly having means for immobilizing the cartridge and means for coupling the piston assembly to the driveshaft. In certain embodiments, when the cartridge is fully inserted into the drive assembly, the piston is pressed into the cylinder sufficiently to establish a selected distance so that the piston shaft is in the proper position to engage with a coupling mechanism carried on the driveshaft.

摘要： A piston pump having a piston axially movable against the force of a spring within an operating chamber connected via check valves to an operating cylinder and a hydraulic medium supply. A section of the piston that extends into the operating chamber has a reduced diameter extension which extends from a shoulder of the piston that delimits the operating chamber. The extension includes a thickened free end having a sealing surface facing the shoulder. A valve disk is located and guided on the extension in a gap between the shoulder and sealing surface and is capable of axially reciprocating movements thereon. The valve disk is provided with openings which provide a passageway for hydraulic medium from the operating chamber to a second check valve. The openings are blocked when the valve disk abuts the sealing surface.

摘要： A power generator comprising: body means having three chambers separated from each other by fixed fluid-tight partitions and having a central bore. Two swash plate means are provided. Each of the swash plate means includes a respective lateral one of the chambers. Each swash plate means is attached to the shaft means and has means for mechanical attachment of the piston rods from the corresponding pistons in the drive cylinders.

摘要： Chemical additives are forced into wells using the pressure above atmospheric pressure, at which the well''s product issues from the well. The additive is forced into the casing of the well and product from the inner tubing string is used to flush the additive down. Apparatus for practicing that method includes a pump connected to pump the additive from a supply container into the well casing. The motor or prime mover for the pump is driven by the pressurized product of the well whereby no external power source is required. The pump delivers additive at higher pressure than the pressure at which product drives the pump motor but it delivers a smaller volume of additive than the volume of product that drives the motor. The structure includes a timing device which results in operation of the pump through a number of cycles at each well treatment and spacing of treatments as desired. It provides for flushing with product during the course of each treatment.
