摘要： The present invention relates to a device exploiting magneto-hydrodynamics (MHD) for localized delivery of material into a target or extraction of material from a target. The device includes a frame (101) comprising a space (102) for conductive fluid and the material, at least one pair of electrodes (103A, 103B) facing each other, a source of electric current (105), a magnet (105), and an opening (106). The electric current and the magnetic field are synchronized so that the material can be moved from the volume between the electrodes through the opening towards the target or from the target through the opening towards the volume. According to the invention the volume is≤2000 mm3, in proviso that mean distance between tips of the electrodes is≤20 mm.

摘要： The invention provides a liquid treatment apparatus such as a reverse osmosis apparatus wherein a portion of an inlet liquid permeates through a filter or a membrane e.g. to provide freshwater from saltwater. The apparatus comprises a pump which provides the necessary pressure of the liquid to drive the permeation process, and a recovery unit which transfers pressure of a residue quid to the inlet liquid. The pump and the recovery unit are driven at synchronous and variable speed to control the output and thereby e.g. to adjust for fouling of the filter or membrane. The invention further provides methods of controlling the synchronous speed, e.g. based on a pressure or based on the consumption of the produced liquid.

摘要： A hydraulic power system is used in a river, ocean or any other body of water having a current. The method is useful for generating useful electric power from flowing water. The flowing water rotates a turbine and a pump that provides hydraulic power to an electric generator for a clean, renewable energy source. The hydraulic power system tethered to the bottom of a body of water and a positive buoyancy mechanism can be integrated or tethered to the pump assembly. The positive buoyancy can support the pump assembly at a predetermined distance above the sea floor.

The housing includes an air inlet and an air outlet. The air blowing portion is held by the motor portion and the clamper portion from upper and lower sides in the axial direction. Once the air blowing portion starts rotating, an air flow traveling radially outward is generated between the flat plates by viscous drag of surfaces of the flat plates and a centrifugal force.

A radial middle of the air blowing region of at least one of the intermediate flat plates is arranged radially outward of a radial middle of the air blowing region of an upwardly adjacent one of the flat plates.

摘要： A disc pump system includes a pump body having a substantially cylindrical shape defining a cavity for containing a fluid. The cavity having a resonant cavity frequency is formed by an internal sidewall and substantially closed at both ends by a first end wall and a driven end wall. The disc pump system includes an actuator that is driven a frequency (f) that corresponds to the fundamental resonant frequency of the actuator. The internal sidewall is configured to expand and contract in response to changes in temperature, thereby causing the actuator and cavity to have approximately the same resonant frequencies over a range of operating temperatures.

摘要： A high pressure osmotic dispense pump (10) having a substantially continuous delivery rate and extended delivery times is described and disclosed. The dispense pump (10) includes a semi-permeable membrane (12) which is substantially free of distortions and lateral stretching stresses. The membrane housing (14) and configuration of the present invention allows for consistent and accurate flow rates at the micro-liter level and improved control of the surface area of the semi-permeable membrane (12). This osmotic pump (10) also includes optional methods for activating and deactivating the osmotic process and/or controlling flow rates. Along with these features, the pump can be amplified or modulated to increase the dispense rate and/or adjust the flow rate during operation.
